Public Safety Visit At Starr

When the weather was too rainy for Starr Elementary students to walk to the City’s Fire Hall, Cpt. David Rantz of Plainwell Public Safety came to them! Cpt. Rantz discussed fire safety and what his job is all about with the students. Mrs. Gonyeau got to help him demonstrate the pants and jackets that firefighters wear.

“Be Nice.” Program Continues At Starr For Second Year

Summer Fun At Starr Elementary!

Starr teacher, Mrs. Mudget, demonstrates a wubble water game for students.

Every Child, Every Seat, Every Day

Every school loves to celebrate perfect attendance, but Starr Elementary does it with a brand new bike!

Each month, every Starr student with zero absences and only one early release or excused tardy is placed in a drawing to win a bike at the end of the year. This year, Caiden Schoen was the big winner! Additional names were drawn for other fun prizes like gift certificates, Summer Fun Bucks and more.

Two students, Anthony Kolhoff and Grant Nogle, received gift certificates to the Kalamazoo Air Zoo for having absolutely PERFECT attendance throughout the entire year.

Reading Goals Met!

Congratulations to all the Starr students who reached their Accelerated Reading goals four consecutive time in 2016-17!
