JUNIOR HOOPSTERS BASKETBALL
We have some exciting changes in the Junior Hoopsters Basketball Program this year. While we have always hoped our program was contributing to the building of skills and fundamentals for our youth, we have also felt we could do more to promote further development. This year, in conjunction with Otsego and Martin, we are going to a new format for practices and games. The new format is going to be a 3 v 3 version of basketball. The high school coaches have developed practice plans and game rotations so that each practice night during the week (two weeknight practice sessions the first two weeks before games begin and one week night practice and one Saturday practice/game session thereafter) every team will work on an assigned set of skills. Those skills that were worked on during the week will be reviewed during the Saturday practice session and followed by a 3 v 3 game in which the coaches will be stressing those skills in the game situation.
We understand this is quite a change from our traditional program but we feel this will better prepare our young athletes for a fun and rewarding basketball experience at whatever level they desire to compete. More information and the REVTRAK registration sheet can be found on the links below.
Looking forward to another Junior Hoopsters Basketball Season!!
