The Zero Waste Cafeteria at PMS received lot of media attention and has been a big hit thanks to the hard work of staff and students!
“The goal is to teach students the importance of not only recycling, but using reusable materials to reduce our landfill waste<” said teacher Kristen Stevens.
“We want students to understand that every choice we make has an environmental impact, all the way down to the lunches they pack,” she went on. “We want recycling to become second nature to students so that it is no longer an extra step, but a normal part of their everyday life. We want our students to feel proud of the efforts that they and their school are taking to be a cleaner, greener and a healthier place.”
