The New STEM Academy STEM_Web

Plainwell Middle School is proud to announce the addition of one of the most unique STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Academies in the State of Michigan. The PMS STEM Academy is a “School within a School” focused on exploring, innovating and creating for 6th and 7th grade students. STEM Enrichment courses are offered for 8th graders. The PMS STEM Academy will provide a project-based learning environment and opportunities for students to use critical-thinking, problem-solving and collaboration – all 21st-century workplace skills.

Have you ever heard of a Newton’s Cradle or an Euler’s Disk? You would have heard of these and many other interesting things if you visited the Exploration & Support Center (ESC), which has been redesigned into a six-ring learning playground at Plainwell Middle School.

Student Council

This year, the Middle School Student Council has decided to have a focus of helping the community around us. Right now, infinity scarves, made out of recycled tshirts are for sale in the school office for $10. The funds raised will benefit Sylvia’s Place, the local shelter for victims of domestic abuse.

Parents’ Group

Parent Group meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month in the Exploration & Support Center at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome, but please know that childcare is not provided. This is a friendly, round-table discussion format.
