Taking Research Beyond Google

  • Encyclopedia Britannica & World Data Analyst (Password required. See Mrs. Nuyen in the Media Center for the password) – Provides encyclopedia articles, links to websites and magazine articles, as well as vital information about countries of the world.
  • Gale Databases (Complete) (Password required. See Mrs. Nuyen in the Media Center for the password) –  Databases provide the full text of our best reference books, magazines, and newspapers.  To reach the Michigan Electronic Library project databases listed below from your home computer, you may be prompted to log in with a valid Michigan driver’s license number.
  • Gale Virtual Encyclopedias – With a single search you can access the contents of fifteen specific subject encyclopedias focusing on arts, biography, business, education, environment, general reference, history, law, literature, medicine, multicultural studies, nation and world, religion, science, and social science.
