The next clinic is scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday, October 14) from 5-7:30 PM. The clinic will be held at Starr’s Gymnasium at 601 School Drive, Plainwell. Vaccine is available to anyone 12+ (parental/legal guardian consent required for minors). No appointment is needed - walk-ins welcome! Pfizer vaccine available to anyone 12+. GRAD BASH FUN RUN: Join the Grad Bash planning committee for a night of community fun at Streidl field on Friday, October 22 from 10 PM - 12 AM for their Full Moon Fun Run! Concessions will be open, Plainwell gear will be for sale and participants will enjoy a night of fun in support of the Grad Bash! This event is open to ALL ages. 2021 BATTLE OF THE BOOKS: Calling all PCS 3rd-5th graders! Have you heard about Battle of the Books? The Battle of the Books program is a fun extra-curricular reading activity for 3rd-5th graders from Plainwell & Otsego elementary schools. After reading seven selected books, team members work together to answer questions related to the books in a quiz bowl type battle in late winter/early spring 2022. We are excited to announce the 2021/22 book titles for Battle of the Books:

NOW HIRING AT PCS SAFE: Plainwell Community Schools is now hiring a self-starting individual to work at their before & after school and summer SAFE program. The position is perfect for college students with daytime classes or someone looking for a split schedule.
DETAILS:
- Be available 6:30 AM - 8:30 AM // 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM (split shift)
- Possess a high School diploma or equivalent
- Morning responsibilities will include planning and implementing activities for children ages K-5th grade before the start of school
- Afternoon responsibilities will include planning and implementing activities for children ages K-5th grade after the end of the school day
- Summer responsibilities will include planning and implementing age specific activities, supervising swimming and water play, attending field trips weekly, etc.
- Desire and skills to make life fun and safe for elementary school children necessary
- Ability to work well with others, take direction when needed, and take the lead when needed
- Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively with both parents and children. Additional hours available to those willing to work all student days, 1⁄2 days, non-student days, and snow days.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT REQUIRED:
- Willingness to complete 24 hours training per year as required by Childcare Licensing
- CPR certified or willing to become certified upon hire

As a reminder, Plainwell Community Schools is offering FREE meal service pick-up for virtual students this fall. Meal Boxes will consist of 5 days of breakfast and lunch meals completely free to students participating in the Plainwell Virtual program. STAFF KICK-OFF: Earlier this week, we held our staff kick-off breakfast! Our Superintendent, Mr. Montange, was excited to welcome our returning PCS staff and greet our new team members! A very special thanks to the amazing team at PCS - each and every employee has a critical role in the education of Today’s Learners and Tomorrow’s Leaders - and we are so thankful for each of you!
Also, thank you to the vendors that joined us for the event to share information with our staff! We appreciate the ongoing support from our community - Plainwell Pride!
We are ready and excited to begin the 2021/22 school - we can’t wait to see the PCS students on Monday, August 30 (half day) for the first day of school! Go Trojans!
