The Athletic Department oversees the operations of 21 interscholastic trojanssports including 39 different level teams. At the high school, over 400 students annually participate in athletics, nine varsity sports are offered for men and women. The Athletic Department also oversees the operation of seven middle school sports.

About Plainwell High School

Plainwell High School is designated as a Class B school which is determined by student enrollment. It is a member of the Wolverine Conference that includes ten area school districts. Every athlete must have a physical on file and must meet all eligibility requirements set forth by both the Michigan High School Athletic Association and Plainwell Community. In addition, there is a participation fee of $30 per sport in which a student participates. These fees help offset the cost of operating the athletic department and also pay for supplementary insurance for the athletes. All Plainwell Middle School and Plainwell High School athletes must have a current physical examination on file.

Physicals for the upcoming 2017-18 school year will be provided free of charge on Saturday, June 3 at Borgess Family Medicine and Pediatrics, 345 Naomi Street, Plainwell. Physicals will take place from 8am-10am. All students in line by 10am will be guaranteed a physical.

Physical cards are available in the Middle School and High School offices or can be downloaded and printed using the button below. They MUST be filled out and signed by a parent or legal guardian for the physicals to be done.

Students unable to attend on June 3 may seek Athletic Physicals from their own health care provider at their own cost.

Athletic Handbook

Plainwell Community Schools’ Athletic Handbook is provided to inform parents and students about the athletic program’s rules for eligibility, participation, conduct, and scholastic responsibility; team information; secondary athletic insurance; and participation fees.

Hall of Fame

All Plainwell High School athletic patrons and fans are encouraged to nominate candidates for the PHS Athletic Hall of Fame. Induction into our Hall of Fame will be held on an annual basis in the fall. Deserving former athletes, coaches and community members may be nominated. The selection committee will meet each spring to review all nominations. We look forward to having our Plainwell community involved in our Hall of Fame process. Go Trojans!

Athletic Season Passes

Season passes are available again this year through the Athletic Office or patrons may purchase them online via RevTrak. The cost is $40 for a student, and $60 for an adult pass with a family pass for $200. Passes are good at all Middle School and High School home events; excluding MHSAA and local tournaments.
