The Cooper students in Young 5's and Kindergarten had a field trip to Gull Meadow Farms yesterday. They had a great fall day while enjoying picking apples and exploring the farm. 🍏🐨🍎

The Cooper Monster Mash was so much fun! It was an awesome outdoor evening for a costume party as families enjoyed trick or treating, food trucks, games and lots of Halloween fun!

The Young Five students at Cooper Elementary took advantage of the beautiful weather yesterday and enjoyed a nature walk to collect leaves! Next up, they will be using the leaves to sort by various attributes, will make patterns and solve simple addition/subtraction story problems. 🍁🍂🍁

The Carnival will be held from 12:00-3:00 PM at Starr Elementary! It’s School Bus Safety Week and we couldn’t end the week without recognizing our amazing transportation team! We are so grateful for our bus drivers, who work hard each day to provide safe transportation for our students! We are excited to welcome back the Mother/Son Hockey Night as the Kalamazoo Wings take on the Allen Americans in the 40th Annual Green Ice Game on Saturday, March 16 at 7:00 PM. Mothers and sons will enjoy the game, a $5 concession voucher, a FREE knit hat and a voucher for a FREE game of bowling at Airway Fun Center! Tickets are available for $17/adults, $14/kids (12 and under). Transportation is not available & parking is $5 per car at the event. Registration is now open for the PCS Hoopsters Basketball program for PCS 3-5th grade students. Hoopsters Basketball is the official developmental league for the Plainwell Trojans Basketball Program. Hoopsters is a 3 v 3 league that is organized as a way to develop the skills necessary for youth basketball players to compete at the next level while keeping fun at the center of every player’s experience. Calling all PCS 3rd-5th graders! Have you heard about Battle of the Books? Battle of the Books is a book-based quiz competition for 3rd-5th grade students at Plainwell and surrounding elementary schools. Students read six incredible stories together and then compete in a quiz bowl type competition in February 2024.
Interested in participating this year? Join us for an Informational Meeting to learn more about Battle of the Books on Tuesday, October 24 from 6:30-7:30 PM at Gilkey Elementary’s Media Center. A Zoom link will also be available for those that are unable to attend in person.

The Young 5 students at Cooper Elementary just finished a special unit where they compared apples - size, weight, color and taste. They made patterns using red and yellow apples, graphed their favorite color of apples and used the apples to show ways to make five! To end their unit, they made applesauce! What a fun (and delicious) project for the Koalas! 🍏🐨🍎
