On Tuesday, September 15th, at the beginning of 2nd period, students will participate in a socio-emotional screener. This type of screener is a best practice according to the American School Counselor Association. The screener consists of 10 questions related to your student's mental health within the last two weeks. The factors are critical to positive academic, social, and emotional success.
The screener will be open to students during school hours on Tuesday, September 15th.
This screener allows our student services staff consisting of school counselors, social workers, and trained mental health counselors to support students in improving their mental health and further succeed in school. Screener data will only be accessible to staff with legitimate educational interests. Results will be maintained in secure files and databases accessible only to these individuals. Screener results will be used with other data to inform practices for social emotional skill development and mental wellness. Screener data will also help staff plan interventions for students with identified needs.
There are no rewards or penalties associated with you or your student’s decision to participate.
