Plainwell Community Schools is mourning the tragic loss of Mason Savage, a PHS student, and his father, Dan Savage, after their family experienced a serious car accident. Three other family members, including two PCS students, are currently hospitalized. Our love, prayers, and support go out to the Savage family during this difficult time.
School and community professionals are working together at Plainwell Community Schools to provide counseling services for students and faculty affected by this loss. Counselors and social workers will be available in the Middle School ESC (library) from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9.
If you are interested in helping the family you can provide support by participating in multiple fundraising events put together by local families and district personnel.

If you've traveled down Starr Road lately, you might have noticed the significant developments on the new Fieldhouse. Over the last month, improvements have been made to the exterior, along with various updates to the gymnasium and pool areas. Exciting times are on the horizon for the Trojans!

Now that the school year has come to a close, we want to express our gratitude to our bus drivers for their unwavering commitment and hard work during the year. Being the first and last faces our students see daily, they exceed expectations in providing exceptional care and safe transportation. A special shoutout goes to Kim Buitendorp, the Cat bus driver, for her retirement from PCS after many years of dedicated service. Congratulations to the Class of 2024 from Renaissance High School and Adult Education! Recently, we celebrated their graduation at the Plainwell Performing Arts Center, which was a memorable evening to honor the 28 graduates from Alternative and Adult Education, along with four new citizens. REMINDER - FREE PHYSICALS TONIGHT (6/5)! Attention Middle and High School athletes and marching band students! Plainwell and Otsego High Schools are joining forces to offer FREE physicals for the 2024/25 school year to PMS/PHS athletes and marching band students on Wednesday, June 5 at Otsego High School. Doors open at 5:00 PM - physicals begin at 5:30 PM. You must be in line by 7:00 PM in order to receive a physical.
Forms are available online and in the athletic office (please bring your completed and signed form with you).

PCS NEWS: NEW ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR ATHLETIC & MARCHING BAND PROGRAMS! For the upcoming 2024/25 school year, all 6th-12th grade student-athletes and PHS Marching Band students must register online to join athletics/marching band activities at PCS. The district has updated its online registration system from Big Teams and moving forward, all registrations will be handled through FinalForms. Keep an eye on your email for more details regarding the transition to FinalForms and for information about the new system/registration procedures. Join us for the upcoming Summer Tae Kwon Do program to improve coordination, gain strength and increase your flexibility while learning self-defense techniques, taught by Master Huong Tran. The eight week summer session for participants 7 and up runs from June 10-July 29. Classes will be held each Monday at Hicks Gym from 5:30-7:00 PM. Cost is $30/individual/$45 per family. Earlier this week, Renaissance High School held a reality fair for their students. Students were given a career/salary and had to visit various stations (housing, entertainment, insurance, etc.) to create a balanced budget. A very special thank you to Arbor Financial Credit Union for hosting this special event for our RHS students!


Thank you to the community for your efforts and for voting. Unfortunately, the Plainwell Community Schools 2024 bond proposal was not approved by voters. Stay tuned as we determine next steps in planning for the future of our school district and our facilities.


It's election day! Remember to vote in the election today (Tuesday, May 7)! The no tax rate increase bond would focus on five key areas:
- Safety & Security Improvements at all buildings to improve district safety and lockdown standards
- New Early Childhood Center to be located on Jersey Street to service birth to 4 year old children
- New Full Size Gymnasium Additions to Cooper and Gilkey Elementaries
- New Tennis Courts at PHS to replace the current courts that are at the end of their life cycle
- Completion of Current Projects
