SWIM & DIVE: Congratulations to the Girls Swim and Dive team who beat Sturgis last night 113-73. Here are some highlights:
- Congratulations to Riley Nugent who qualified for state in 200 IM.
- Taylor Seibert won diving, Izzi Keckler finished 2nd and Jadyn Erdody finished 4th.
- Great swims by Sydney Harper, Isabelle Delaet, Ella Way, Madison Seibert and McKenna Soderquist, as well as the rest of the team!

TROJAN SWIM & DIVE: Congratulations to the Girls Swim & Dive team who beat Wayland last night 103-83. Special congratulations to Riley Nugent who qualified in the 200 free and 500 free for state. The divers finished 1-3: Taylor Seibert 1, Jadyn Erdody 2 and Izzi Keckler 3. In addition, Sarah Russell had a new PR for diving. Great Swims by Sophie Cox, Isabelle DeLaet, Madison Seibert, Maggie Pierce, Sydney Harper, Audrey Todd and Kallie Arlington. Way to go, Trojans!

TROJAN CROSS COUNTRY: The Plainwell Girls Cross Country team has had a very successful start to the 2021 season. Their first two meets have resulted in two trophies for the team!
At the season opening Niles Invitational, the Trojans brought home the championship trophy along with 10 individual medals (including the overall winner, Mackenzie Hill for her first career XC victory).
At their second race of the season, they competed against a talented field at the South Haven Rustbuster Invitational. The Trojans were able to come away with a runner up finish and trophy behind state ranked Otsego. For the second time, Mackenzie Hill was the meet champion, and led the 5 PXC girls who finished in the medal hunt.
What a great start to the season, way to go Trojans!


MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAM BUILDING: It’s been a great start to the week at PCS! At the Middle School, the students have been doing some awesome team building activities with their teachers. We are excited to have the students back to school after summer break!

SAIL DEPARTS: Our Summer Adventure in Learning program ended last week! To celebrate a great summer of learning and adventures, the SAILing crew had a special lunch together. From all of us at PCS, we thank our amazing summer staff for their hard work and dedication to our students this summer - thank you to each of you for being a PCS SAIL anchor, you really kept us afloat! Until next year SAILors, ahoy matey!




SAIL (MICHIGAN’S) ADVENTURE DAY: After a week of learning about the physics involved in building a rollercoaster, the Middle School Session 2 SAIL students had an awesome last adventure day as they took a trip to Michigan’s Adventure. There were lots of smiles, laughs and memories made during this special trip. What a great summer of fun and learning at the SAIL program!




SOCCER ALUMNI GAME: PCS held their annual alumni soccer game last night. It was a great turnout with 26 alumni present to play against the PHS Varsity team. In the end, the Varsity team won, 2-0, but it was still a great time for all the Trojans to come together for this fun annual competition.

SAIL ADVENTURE DAY: The 4th and 5th grade SAIL students took to the Air (Zoo) on their adventure day this morning. The students explored and had fun while enjoying all the wonderful learning opportunities at the Air Zoo. It was a great way for the Session 2 Sailors to end their summer of learning (and adventures) at the Summer Adventure in Learning program!




RHS MAEO AWARD: At the June meeting of the Plainwell Board of Education, Renaissance High School received the honor of becoming the Michigan Alternative Education Organization (MAEO) School of the Year. To be nominated for this honor schools must demonstrate specific indicators of quality programming that signify meeting each of the identified Exemplary Practices in Alternative Education which include vision and mission, leadership, climate and culture, staffing and PD, and curriculum and instruction. The staff accepted their award from the president of the MAEO organization, Rhonda Marcum and Superintendent Matt Montange. Congratulations RHS, Plainwell Pride!

MIDDLE SCHOOL SAIL : It's been a great few weeks of learning in our Summer Adventure in Learning program. Last week, the Middle School students built hoop gliders and solar ovens. This week during their final week at SAIL, the students were "building" up to their final trip to Michigan's Adventure by learning about the physics involved in designing a rollercoaster. They learned about topics like potential and kinetic energy, and velocity. It has been an awesome summer at the Middle School SAIL program!

SAIL ROLLERCOASTERS: The Midde School Summer Adventure in Learning students had fun today building rollercoasters using a variety of materials. It’s been fun watching the student’s creativity shine through on the many projects the PMS SAIL team has put together this summer.
