The Plainwell High School Holocaust Literature II class visited the Illinois Holocaust Museum in Skokie. During their visit, they asked very thoughtful questions to a hologram of a survivor who survived Auschwitz. They also toured the museum, made a pledge to be an upstander and also took a virtual reality trip to Auschwitz with Fritzie Fritzshall who was one of 600 workers in a factory. Ms. Fritzshall was the youngest in the group and vowed to tell their story, so every day each woman gave her a crumb of their portion of bread to help her survive. It was a great and memorable trip for these PHS students!
The Plainwell Middle School 6th grade choir students had a great field trip to Miller Auditorium to see Madagascar with Ms. Quillian today. It was a great experience for these Trojans!
We had lots of fun at Gilkey Elementary’s Kindergarten and Young 5 Round-up last night! Students enjoyed a scavenger hunt around the school to learn all about becoming a Gilkey Gecko!

Plainwell Middle School 8th grade families, please mark your calendar for Friday, June 2 from 5-6:30 PM for the 8th Grade Celebration. Join us to celebrate the 8th grade class with celebration boards, followed by a special event for the 8th grade students which will include music, games, ice cream, a photobooth and lots of fun. Recently, nine Plainwell High School students entered their woodworking projects into the Regional competition for MITES (Michigan Industrial and Technology Education Society). Congratulations to 6 of the 9 students whose projects finished in the top 4 of their category! These students will go on to participate in the State Finals this week at Wings Stadium.

On Friday, Plainwell Corners Preschool held a special Grandparents Day event. It was a beautiful and fun day filled with special activities, a letter scavenger hunt, snacks, playground fun and lots of bubbles. It was a great day, filled with lots of smiles, for all that were able to attend!
Join us TONIGHT (May 9) as PHS Choir presents "Collage 2023: A Senior Celebration!" The celebration featuring all PHS Choirs, Honors' Choir and Senior Soloists will begin at 7pm in the Plainwell Performing Arts Center. Free of charge and open to the public.
The Plainwell Middle School 6th, 7th and 8th grade Choirs, along with the Honors Choir performed at the State Choir Festival. It was a wonderful day filled with amazing music performed by these talented Trojans! Plainwell Pride!
Throughout the district, we are celebrating our AMAZING staff! At Plainwell Middle School, they celebrated last week in many special ways. Their Parent Group had a massage therapist come in and the PMS staff could sign up for 15 minute massages. They also stocked a snack station and provided desserts. Staff were also treated to a special breakfast and a taco bar lunch provided by the Principal Stamos and Assistant Principal Manting.

Our Middle School Track team had a great competition against Edwardsburg last week. While they came up a little short, there were several athletes that broke middle school records. Special congratulations to:

On Friday, the Starr Elementary Parent's Club sponsored the April Student of the Month Breakfast. Each month, Starr teachers select one student who they felt did an outstanding job throughout the month. In April, the students who were selected did an awesome job giving great effort.
