Who doesn't love a great holiday tradition?! It was great fun at Gilkey, Cooper and Starr Elementary Schools as some of the Middle and High School choir members performed for the students at their annual holiday caroling tour throughout the district. This annual caroling event includes a number of holiday classic songs, as well as a few new favorites. It is always a favorite for all the students and staff involved, the smiles were priceless!

The PHS Boys Basketball Program kicked-off the season by hosting a team-building day at the Field House. They welcomed the last two Plainwell Wolverine Conference Championship teams: the 1983-84 team and the 1985-86 team, along with Coach Glenn Beiers’ wife, Del Beier.
The event provided a fantastic opportunity for past and present players to come together, including the current freshmen, JV and varsity teams, along with their parents. During the event, they enjoyed delicious food, engaged in conversations and participated in an interactive Q&A session with the alumni players. The alumni offered invaluable advice and challenged our athletes to understand that every player has a crucial role in making the team successful.
One memorable moment from the evening came from an alumni player sharing the significance of camaraderie, stating: “Talk to your teammates, high-five them, hug them, and huddle up together. No matter where you are, always acknowledge your teammates. This time flies by, and it’s something you will cherish forever.” Indeed, they will cherish it—the night was filled with wonderful memories and essential lessons for the Trojans as they set out for the season with one goal in mind: winning the Conference Championship!
Trojans leading Trojans - A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who joined us to make this a memorable evening for our Trojan Basketball players - PLAINWELL PRIDE!

To celebrate the end of the first trimester, Middle School students who received two or fewer behavior referrals and passed all their classes were given the opportunity to participate in a fun activity for the last 45 minutes of their school day! During this time, students enjoyed a variety of activities, including: playing games in the gym, singing karaoke and dancing with Just Dance, creating artwork, decorating cookies, playing board/card games, watching movies, gaming on Chromebooks or they spent time outdoors beautifying the school. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our Middle School Trojans!

The PHS Boys Basketball teams kicked-off their seasons last night at Thornapple Kellogg. The Trojans came home with two victories with the JV team winning 67-58 and the Varsity 38-32. 🏀 PLAINWELL PRIDE! 🏀

Thanksgiving traditions are the best! Cooper Elementary held their annual Pie Day before leaving for Thanksgiving Break. At the event, Mrs. Keorkunian (principal), read a Thanksgiving story over the intercom while students and staff shared pumpkin pie at a makeshift "table." It was a wonderful and meaningful way for the Koalas to come together and celebrate Thanksgiving.

Plainwell High School Junior - Hayden Steele traveled to Chicago recently to compete against fellow lifters at the USPA Illinois State Tournament and returned home victorious in both Raw Full Power and Raw Deadlift! As a two-time state champion, Hayden stepped onto the platform with one goal in mind: to shatter the 20-year-old state deadlift record of 185 pounds. On her second attempt, she exceeded the record by an impressive 46.5 pounds and later surpassed her own new record by an additional 11 pounds, ultimately setting a remarkable new record of 242.5 pounds! With this victory, Hayden came away a TWO-TIME STATE CHAMPION in Juniors 16-17/60kg Raw Full Power and Raw Deadlift, breaking the old state record by over 60 pounds! This puts her total only 17 pounds under qualifying for Ultra Nationals in Anaheim, CA this May! Congratulations to Hayden and best wishes as she pursues her next goal of making it to Ultra Nationals - PLAINWELL PRIDE!
