
Attention Rocket Football Camp Families! We have an update regarding the Rocket Football Camp this evening! Registration will be inside the double doors at the gym entrance (south side of High School and east of football field). After your child has checked in they will be directed to a holding area for inclement weather. We will hold camp in the rain but will follow the MHSAA guidelines for thunder and lighting. Camp check-in is from 5:00-5:30 PM and Camp will be held from 5:30-7:30 PM.GO TROJANS!

☑️ ROCKET FOOTBALL CAMP REMINDERS
Rocket Football Camp will be held on Wednesday, July 30 & Thursday, July 31. Please note the time change from the original flyer!!
📍Location: Plainwell High School Practice Field (due to construction)
🕔 Check-in Time: 5:00–5:30 PM (Day 1 Only) There will be 3 check-in people: Flag, 3rd/4th Tackle and 5th/6th Tackle. All tackle players will weigh in at check-in. Please look for a sign-in table near the practice field when you arrive. Viewers may also want to bring a chair or blanket or watch, there is no seating at the practice field.
🏈 Camp shirts will be handed out during check-in
🕠 Camp Time: 5:30–7:30 PM
👟 What to Bring: Wear tennis shoes or cleats (cleats preferred) with weather appropriate athletic wear.

☑️ Under the current plan, beginning October 1, 2025 families must complete the Education and Nutrition Benefits application to receive free and reduced breakfast/lunch.

‼️ Attention Youth Soccer Camp Families ‼️ Due to the heat and forecasted storms, tonight’s outdoor portion of camp is canceled.
Instead, please meet at the Plainwell High School Cafeteria at 6PM for a special Meet & Greet with our High School Coaches and Players. Each camper will receive a mini soccer ball to have signed by the high school players as a fun way to wrap up the week.

We are just over a month away from the start of the 2025/26 school year. We look forward to welcoming the Trojans back to school on Monday, August 25 (half day). During their week of exploring the State of Michigan, the Kindergarten students at PCS Summer School took a fun field trip to Brookside Farms. There, they took their learning outside and enjoyed picking blueberries. This experience was a wonderful adventure for the students.


As a reminder, there is still time to sign-up for our upcoming Rocket Football programs:
🏈 Rocket/Flag Football Camp: Camp will be held next week (July 30 & 31) for K-6th graders. Registration remains open until camp begins; however, limited t-shirt sizes will be available.
🏈 2025 Pee Wee/Rocket/Flag Football Program: The K-6th grade youth football season will begin in mid-August. The 2025 Rocket, Flag and Pee Wee Football programs will provide an introduction to Plainwell's football program with an emphasis on learning skills while having fun. Registration closes for all three programs on August 1.

Join us for a FUN Youth Summer Cheer Camp for incoming 1st-5th Graders from August 5-7. Camp will be held at PHS (meet at the PHS Sports Entrance Lobby) from 5:00-6:30 PM. During camp, athletes will learn cheers/chants, stunts, tumbling and jumps along with activities for each theme day! Snacks will be provided each day. Registration is open for incoming 3rd - 5th graders to join us for the 2025 Rocket Cheer program! Program begins the week of August 11 with games throughout the month of September. Athletes will cheer at 4-5 games on Saturdays, depending on final schedules. Practices will be held once a week for one hour, days and times TBD. Our Summer Food Service program is well underway, have you stopped by to check it out? This great opportunity provides FREE breakfast and lunch for PCS students with two options available: Daily Onsite Breakfast and Lunch at Starr Elementary OR 7-Day Meal Box Pick-up. Please note the schedule for the remainder of this week:
- 7-DAY MEAL BOX PICK-UP is available tomorrow - Wednesday, July 2
- DAILY BREAKFAST AND LUNCH AT STARR ELEMENTARY is available Tuesday and Wednesday only (no service on Thursday, July 3 and Friday, July 4 for holiday observation)

Enrollment is open for FREE four year old preschool funded through Michigan's Pre-K for All initiative. Classrooms with certified teachers are available at ECEC, Starr and Cooper Elementary, with wrap around care available. Students must be four by December 1, 2025. We are excited to share that registration is open for the 2025-26 SAFE program. The School Age Fun & Enrichment (SAFE) Program is a self-funded, licensed child care program for K-5 students. Supervised by a caring and attentive staff, SAFE child care provides before and after school care at all three elementary buildings. Some highlights of the program include:

Congratulations to Cooper Elementary students Al (5th grade) and Isaac (1st grade) for winning State Representative Matt Hall's district reading challenge! Yesterday, they had the wonderful opportunity to visit Lansing, where they toured the Capitol Building and were honored for their efforts during Reading Month.
In March, Al read over 6,000 pages and Isaac read 1,000. What an incredible opportunity and recognition for these Cooper Koalas – PLAINWELL PRIDE! 📚

We are excited to share the Summer Walking Track hours. Beginning Monday, June 16, the Field House Walking Track will be open from Monday-Friday 12:30-2:00 PM. When you arrive at the Field House, please sign-in. All minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Last Friday, the Young Fives class at Cooper Elementary organized a special event called “Slide Into Kindergarten”. The celebration showcased the growth of the Young Five students as they transitioned into Kindergarten. From mastering letters, letter sounds, addition and subtraction to even beginning to read, these students made a lot of progress throughout the year. To celebrate their achievements, all Cooper students gathered on the playground to show their support and cheer on the young learners. 🐨🛝
