This morning, Gilkey Elementary held their November/December Student and Staff of the Month ceremony. Each month, Gilkey teachers select one student and staff member who they felt did an outstanding job throughout the month. In November/ December the focus was on self control. Way to go, Geckos!

Throughout the district, the elementary students are having lots of fun with various dress up days! From Frosty’s Fun Day to Tinsel Tuesday to Bright Lights Day, our students are spreading joy and being festive leading up to the holidays.

She’s back! It was lots of fun at Gilkey Elementary this morning as the Geckos had a special visitor…Snowflake the Elf returned and went on a great adventure throughout the building. What a fun way to start the day, the hallways were filled with joy and laughter from all the Gilkey Geckos.

Ms. Hannig's second graders at Gilkey Elementary studied Christmas Around the World, where they had a special (and yummy) project from France. As a class, they made French Yule Logs. What a fun learning opportunity for these Gilkey Geckos!

The Plainwell Robotics Club competed in very active and equally successful tournaments this past weekend. Many students and coaches were participating in their first tournament and several teams won awards.
MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL: The Plainwell Robotics Club sponsored two tournaments at PHS which included 20 Middle School VEX Robotics teams from across southern and western Michigan on Saturday and 23 High School teams on Sunday. From PCS, 18 of our 24 Middle and High School teams competed and received 7 awards collectively. Way to go, Trojans!
ELEMENTARY: The action was not limited to our Middle and High School students, as three of our nine Elementary School teams also competed at a VEX IQ Tournament in Hudsonville. This was a first for many of the 4th and 5th grade students and their coaches. Congratulations to Elementary teams: Cobra, Ditto Ms and Koalabots on a great competition.
We are incredibly proud of all of our Robotics teams for their hard work and dedication - thank you for representing PCS with Trojan Pride!

The students in Ms. Pierce’s class at Gilkey Elementary celebrated World Kindness Day by spreading a little cheer to some of their elderly neighbors.
