HOLIDAY FUN: Prior to break, our elementary buildings were filled with lots of joy as the students grew more and more excited for winter break and the holidays. Our Kindergarten Rock Starrs from Starr Elementary had lots of fun while creating holiday art and enjoying sweets & treats.

GIVING BACK: Over the last few weeks, the school buildings throughout the district participated in collecting items for the Plainwell Volunteer Christmas Project. Thank you to all that donated to help make this a successful project for families in our community!
In the Middle School, the Student Council coordinated loading up the donations to deliver to the Christmas Project and the National Junior Honor Society helped sort and package the donations to deliver to families. It was amazing to see our students come together to lend a hand during the holiday season - Trojan Pride!

VIRTUAL & HYBRID HOLIDAY CELEBRATION: The students in Plainwell Virtual & Hybrid had a great holiday celebration last week! They enjoyed an afternoon outside with games, cookie decorating and hot chocolate with their teachers prior to winter break!

PHS HOLIDAY SPECTRUM CONCERT: Last week, the PHS Band & Choir programs performed at the 2021 Holiday Spectrum Concert. It was an evening filled with amazing holiday performances - great job to the band and choir students, as well as the directors for providing an amazing and festive show!

OH WHAT FUN! The students at Starr Elementary had a special visitor return to their building last week as Lucky the Elf joined them at school again this year! Lucky's shenanigans brought smiles, giggles and lots of joy as students found her throughout the building in the lunchroom, music class, at the pool (where she even pushed Mrs. Skinner in) and jingling her way through the hallways. After several attempts by Starr’s office staff, they were finally able to catch Lucky just in time for the Starr students to leave for their Winter Break! Oh what fun it was for all, the smiles and giggles were priceless!

SHOP WITH A HERO: It was an awesome night at the 2021 Shop with a Hero event at Meijer. On Wednesday, we gave out 100 - $100 gift cards to Meijer at our Shop with a Hero event. What a special time for the PCS students, as well as the heroes that helped them holiday shop. We are so grateful to our anonymous donor for providing this opportunity to our students every year, it touches the lives of so many. We are also very thankful to local heroes and volunteers for making this such a special event for the Middle School Students. THANK YOU to everyone that made this night so incredibly special!

MATH NATION: The Plainwell Middle School math programs were the recipients of free resources from Math Nation this year. Math Nation is a "Powerful, Interactive Tool" that provides videos, learning tools, workbooks and online support to students 24-hours a day. These materials provide our 6-8 grade students with all the necessary tools to succeed in math classes throughout middle school. A very special thank you to Math Nation for your support of Today's Learners and Tomorrow's Leaders.
