As we prepare for Back to School on Monday, August 26 (half day), we wanted to share the following reminders from our transportation department:
1. Bus riders should be out 10 minutes before their pick up time.
2. If you do not have a designated bus stop listed on the transportation route, your student can go to the nearest bus stop to be picked-up.
3. If you had a stop last year and you do not see it listed, please find where it would fall within the route schedule on the first day, bus route updates will be made as needed.
4. Please be aware that stops may be adjusted or updated based on overall ridership for each route.
5. Elementary families: Please note that during the first couple weeks of school as the bus routes get established, the buses usually leave the elementary buildings later than normal for the PM routes, causing students to arrive home later than normal.
6. Take note of what bus students are picked-up on in the morning, as well as asking the driver where drop-off will be in the afternoon.
7. Thank you to all who have updated PowerSchool to register your student for PCS Transportation, as that is the first step to ensuring your student has busing for the 2024/25 school year. PLEASE NOTE: The Bus Right and PowerSchool systems do not automatically sync, all students must be entered in manually by the Transportation department to add your student to a bus route or for you to receive an email from BusRight. If these steps are not complete, please let us know. PLEASE NOTE: We are aware that the BusRight app is not currently displaying pick-up or drop-off times. We are working closely with the BusRight team to get this repaired as quickly as possible. For now, please view the bus routes listed in this email.
8. If you have an elementary student at Gilkey or Starr, please ensure that they know their drop-off building for the AM route.
9. Families can check their email for 2024/25 back to school transportation information.

The elementary playgrounds at Cooper and Starr are complete! Thanks to the community’s support on the 2019 bond, the Koalas and Rock Starrs will soon be enjoying many fun recess adventures when school begins on Monday, August 26 (half day).

Two for Two! The Plainwell Varsity Girls Cross Country team won their second invitational of the season last night at the Three Rivers Big Hill Invitational. Leading the way for the Trojans (and finishing 3rd overall) was senior Claire Vos, with Emma Taggett, Josie Longcore, Mai Nguyen, Hannah Erlandson, Alayna Ranney and Gwen Todd rounding out the Trojans’ top seven.
In the JV race, freshman Molly Bruggink started her PXC career off with a race victory, while running fast enough to win a seventh place freshman medal against the varsity times.
