PHS Students, Aidan Ranger and Selah Smith competed in their final Equestrian Club District Meet on Sunday. They placed first in all three of their District Meets (8/26, 8/27 and 9/10) winning the Championship for Division D. Being one of the top two teams in their division means they now move on to Regionals which will be in Berrien Springs beginning September 29. These two are outstanding equestrians and their hard work continues to pay off. Way to go, Trojans!
New this year! We are excited to share that Plainwell Middle School will be honoring a Student of the Week for each grade level. This week kicks-off the first student of the week for the 2023/24 school year and we are happy to share that the following students were selected:
Gibson Pettit (8th Grade) - Gibson has started the 2023-2024 school year off strong. He always has a positive attitude and is a consistent role model for other students.
Evi Coutu (7th Grade) - Evi has shown Plainwell P.R.I.D.E. everyday so far this year. She always has a positive attitude in class and is always giving her personal best in classroom activities.
Joshua Preuss (6th Grade) - Joshua has adapted to middle school quickly. He is always working hard on his school work. We really appreciate his willingness to help others out.
Way to go, Trojans! We are proud of your hard work at Plainwell Middle School.

Students at Plainwell Middle School learned about the 9/11 attacks today. They listened to teachers and administrators tell about their own memories of 9/11 (pictured are Mrs. Ramsey, Mrs. Murphy and Mr. Montange).
The Boys Tennis match that was scheduled for today (Monday, September 11) has been canceled and rescheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday, September 12). Good luck tomorrow, Trojans!
The Girls Varsity Golf Wolverine Conference Jamboree that was scheduled for today (Monday, September 11) has been canceled and rescheduled for Wednesday, September 13. Start time on Wednesday is 11:30 am. GO TROJANS!

The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams had excellent performances at the Delton-Kellogg Invitational tonight.
HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
- The Boys team placed their top 7 in the first 21 runners for a first place team score of 36 points.
- The Girls team’s top 5 all finished in the top 25 to win medals and lead the girls to a runner-up finish, behind state ranked GR Covenant Christian.
- Medalists for the Trojans include: Josie Longcore, Emma Taggett, Hannah Erlandson, Gwen Todd, Raya Mergen-Henry, Henry Cox, Isaac Veen, Donovan Ryan, Liam Troutner, Hiro Nguyen and Trent Hansen.
- Big congratulations go out to Junior Henry Cox for his first HS victory!

The Middle School 7th and 8th grade Volleyball teams played against Otsego last night. Both teams played great and had close games! Congratulations to the 7th grade team on their win! We are proud of these student-athletes for their hard work in and out of the classroom - GO TROJANS!
Congratulations to the Girls JV Golf team who brought home a trophy last night! The team placed 2nd overall with Harper Johnson finishing as a medalist with a final score of 46. Way to go, Trojans - Plainwell Pride!
Our youngest Trojans in Ms. Mudget’s Young 5 class at Cooper Elementary are making connections and having fun as they begin their educational journey at PCS.
Big WIN for the Varsity Soccer team tonight! The Trojans won 2-0 over the defending Wolverine Conference Champs, Edwardsburg HS. Way to go Trojans, Plainwell Pride!
The PHS Tennis Match that was scheduled for today (Wednesday, September 6) at Sturgis has been canceled. Please note that tennis practice is still on!
Students in Ms. Cole’s 4th grade class at Starr Elementary had some fun while being creative. Cole’s Crew created warm fuzzies during a break from learning as a reminder to show kindness to others. Kindness is contagious!
The PHS Boys Varsity Tennis Team traveled to South Haven yesterday, congratulations to the following players who brought home a win:
- Number 1 Doubles: Andrew Hampton and Teagen Wilson
- Number 2 Doubles: Bradley Jeffreys and Austin Susens
- Number 3 Doubles: Anthony Kolhoff and Brayden Triemstra
- Number 4 Doubles: Lincoln Benson and Sean MacRitchie
Next up, they will travel to Sturgis. Way to go, Trojans!

This program is available to Plainwell and Otsego community senior citizens who are looking to get involved and active in our community! We will offer a number of events throughout the year, so please stay tuned for more information. This Fall Kickoff event will include food & fun, a tour of Christian Neighbors, volunteer opportunities and much more!
