Congratulations to the Varsity Football team on their 34-27 victory over Coldwater last night! It was a great night to be a Trojan with a wonderful performance by the Trojan Marching Band, lots of Plainwell Pride led by the Cheer team and a well played game by the PHS Football team! More highlights from our first week, this time featuring our Rock Starrs! In Mrs. Amaezechi’s fourth grade class at Starr Elementary, they worked together to develop their class contract. ⭐️
It was a great first week at PCS! At the Middle School, teachers had their students work on several team building activities to help build strong relationships. It’s great to be a Trojan!

Registration closes today (8/31) for our upcoming Love and Logic Parenting Classes! These classes are available to any PCS family (present or future) at the Plainwell Performing Arts Center. Class will run for six weeks on Thursday evenings (September 14, 21, 28 and October 5, 12, 19). Childcare will be provided. Cost is $10 (per workbook). The Varsity Tennis match that was scheduled for today (Tuesday, August 29) at Battle Creek Pennfield has been canceled.

Attention Trojan Football Fans - we have a few game updates!
1. The PHS Freshman Football game that was scheduled for today (8/25) at Hamilton HS has been canceled.
2. The PHS Varsity Football game that was scheduled for last night against Hamilton HS has been rescheduled for TODAY (8/25). To accommodate schedules and officials, the game will be played AT Hamilton High School at 4:00 PM. Good luck and GO TROJANS!
3. For those that purchased tickets for the Varsity Home Football game against Hamilton HS last night, we have requested a refund for tickets purchased through Hometown ticketing. All tickets purchased for the 8/24 game will be refunded, the refund process may take 3-5 days. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Due to heat index concerns and potential storms, the PHS Football game that was scheduled for tonight (Thursday, August 24) against Hamilton HS has been canceled.
BACK TO SCHOOL BUS REMINDERS: As we prepare for Back to School on Monday (8/28), we wanted to share the following reminders from our transportation department:
1. Bus riders should be out 10 minutes before their pick up time.
2. If you do not have a designated bus stop listed on the transportation route, your student can go to the nearest bus stop to be picked-up.
3. If you had a stop last year and you do not see it listed, please find where it would fall within the route schedule on the first day, bus route updates will be made as needed.
4. Please be aware that stops may be adjusted or updated based on overall ridership for each route.
5. Elementary families: Please note that during the first couple weeks of school as the bus routes get established, the buses usually leave the elementary buildings later than normal for the PM routes, causing students to arrive home later than normal.
6. Take note of what bus students are picked-up on in the morning, as well as asking the driver where drop-off will be in the afternoon.
7. Families can check their email for 2023/24 back to school transportation information.

CETUSA is looking for a few last-minute host families for high school exchange student's who hope to join your home for the school year! Exchange students will come with their own health insurance and monthly spending money. Host families are asked to provide meals at the home, a room with a bed (can be shared with another teen if the same gender) and the opportunity to be an active member of your family. Deadline to volunteer is 8/31/23. Call today to learn more!
Attention PCS students, families and community! Today (Thursday, August 24), we will be holding a district-wide staff safety training. This training will include police presence and safety personnel throughout the district. Please be advised that during the drills, our offices will be closed intermittently. They will respond to emails and voicemails once their offices reopen.
Due to heat index concerns, the JV and Varsity Soccer games that were scheduled for today (8/23) at home vs. Wayland have been canceled.
Due to heat index concerns, the following PHS events have been changed:
- The Freshmen Football game in Hamilton has been postponed to Friday (game time TBD).
- The JV Football game in Hamilton will start at 7:00 PM tonight (8/23). The bus will be leaving for Hamilton at 5:30 PM.
- JV Soccer and Varsity Soccer - CANCELED

The Plainwell Elementary Tennis Camp that was scheduled for today (8/23) has been canceled due to the heat index. The contingency date for today is Friday (8/25) from 8:00-9:00 AM. If any changes are needed for tomorrow’s camp, we will make the call around 1:30 PM. The contingency date for tomorrow will be next Thursday, August 31, from 4:30-5:30 PM.

Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team on their second place finish yesterday at the Three Rivers Big Hill Invite. They were only 8 points behind first place Marshall. Way to go, Trojans - Plainwell Pride!
This morning, we welcomed back our staff to kick-off the 2023/24 school year with breakfast and an opening ceremony at the PAC. We are excited to begin another great year at PCS with our AMAZING staff and can’t wait to welcome our students back to school next Monday, August 28 (half day). GO TROJANS!
