Congratulations to PHS student, Madison Nieuwenhuis, who is the Fargo National Champion for wrestling! She is # 1 in the country at 100lbs. She won: 10-0, 10-0, pin, 6-6 win on criteria and won 2-1 in the finals! Way to go, Madison - TROJAN PRIDE!
Our Middle School Project Based Learning Summer School students are creating their own theme park. This week, they worked on the backdrop. Next up, they will work on building rides, food trucks and roller coasters. What a fun project and a great learning experience.

Summer School is underway where students are completing credit recovery and advancement classes at PHS. Special congratulations go out to incoming freshman, Ryan, who is the first to complete an advancement class (health) for high school! Way to go, Ryan!
We are excited to introduce our upcoming Love and Logic Parenting Classes! These classes are available to any PCS family (present or future) at the Plainwell Performing Arts Center. Class will run for six weeks on Thursday evenings (September 14, 21, 28 and October 5, 12, 19). Childcare will be provided. Cost is $10 (per workbook). Construction is underway at Gilkey Elementary School. There is lots of excitement and activity as work has begun on the playgrounds at Gilkey. Soon the Geckos will enjoy a new large play structure on both the upper and lower elementary playgrounds, as well as a third play structure for their preschool students!

PHS School Counselor, Emily Johnson, was recently a presenter at San Diego State University for a Counselor Fellowship program through MCAN. Way to go, Mrs. Johnson.
One of the PHS LINKS II students, Hailey, completed a special piece of art for her final project. The piece, which includes several student handprints in the backdrop, is a beautiful addition to PHS. According to the artist, she is hopeful that "When people look at the mural, I want them to feel welcomed into the school and feel a sense of belonging. Feeling included is a big thing in high school. I want people to feel like they belong in our school especially in today's world." Special thanks to Hailey for this beautiful piece and for the reminder of the importance of including others. Plainwell Pride!
We 💙 our staff! To end another great year at PCS, we held our annual Staff Bash! Each year, we enjoy celebrating our staff at this special event to say thank you for their hard work and dedication! This year’s theme, a fiesta, was so much fun! Gracias to the PCS staff for all you do each and every day! Have a great summer and remember to trabaje duro, sea amable (work hard and be nice).
