Pool schedule changes! We are excited to relocate to our new pool facility and eagerly anticipate everyone experiencing the new Field House soon. During our transition to the new pool, the facility will be closed on the following dates to ensure our staff receives proper training:
- Friday, January 3: No Open Swim and No TAC practice
- Saturday, January 4: No Aqua Aerobics
- Monday, January 6-Friday, January 10: No Noon Lap Swim

There was so much holiday fun throughout the district last week. From special dress up days, to celebrations, to lots of fun and games, our students were excited to show their holiday spirit before Winter Holiday Break. We ❤️ all the joy and smiles that the holiday season brings to our students!

💙📣 Cheer Fest 2024 📣💙 PCS Cheer had strong performances from all their teams at the Cheer Fest this past weekend. The Plainwell Fourth and Fifth grade Exhibition team, as well as the Middle School teams had strong performances during the competition. The Plainwell JV and Varsity teams both took first place! Fantastic job Trojan Cheer!


As a reminder, our Winter Holiday Break is from December 23-January 3. We wish the Trojan community a happy holiday break. We look forward to welcoming our students back to school on Monday, January 6. From all of us at PCS - Happy Holidays!

Swim Practice Reminders! There is no 10 & under and 11-12 TAC practice tonight (Thursday, December 19). The Middle School Swim & Dive team has practice at their regular scheduled times (6:00-7:00 PM). Please check your email and the website for practice changes and Winter Break schedules.


We are just two days away from showtime and there are only 70 tickets remaining for the 2024 Winter Musicale Concert! Get your tickets today to join us for this annual Band and Choir Holiday Concert on Thursday, December 19 at 7 PM at the Plainwell Performing Arts Center. Gilkey Elementary held their November/December Student and Staff of the Month ceremony. Each month, Gilkey teachers select students and staff members who they felt did an outstanding job throughout the month and the recipients are celebrated at a special award ceremony. In November/December, those who were selected did an awesome job being dependable. Way to go, Geckos!


‼️ Field House Progress Update! ‼️ Many interior projects have been successfully completed and we are SO CLOSE to welcoming the Trojan community to the new pool and gymnasium!
☑️ The pool tiles and blocks are installed, and the pool is now filled!
☑️ The gymnasium floor is finished, and the bleachers are installed.
As the facility receives its final touches, we eagerly anticipate watching the Trojans compete in the new Field House in early 2025! Once we receive final approval, our teams will start practicing in the new space, and we aim to host the first athletic event by mid-January. Stay tuned for details about the Grand Opening Ceremony soon!

Holiday traditions are so much fun! The atmosphere was filled with joy at Gilkey, Cooper and Starr Elementary Schools as the Middle and High School Choirs performed for students during their annual holiday caroling tour across the district. This cherished event features a mix of beloved holiday classics along with some new favorites. It remains a highlight for all the students and staff involved, with smiles that are truly priceless!


The Gilkey Elementary 1st and 2nd grade students performed at their “In My Snowman Era” musical this week. The students did an outstanding job performing at this festive concert. Thank you to our students and Gilkey’s Music Teacher (Mr. Oostdyk) for a wonderful evening at the Plainwell Performing Arts Center!

Due to winter weather and continued difficult travel conditions, all afternoon and evening activities are canceled today (Thursday, December 12). This includes all events, games, concerts and practices district-wide. Stay safe and have a great day, Trojans!


Due to winter weather and difficult travel conditions, Plainwell Community Schools will be closed tomorrow (Thursday, December 12). This closure includes the SAFE and ECEC programs. We wish our students, staff and families a safe snow day!


Registration is open for our upcoming Love and Logic Parenting Class! The class is available to any PCS family (present or future) on Saturday, February 15 from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM at the Plainwell Performing Arts Center. Cost is $10 (per workbook). Registration closes on January 31, register today by visiting plainwellschools.org/page/youth-programs. Please note that childcare is not provided during the event.


We are excited to share that registration for the 2025 Daughter Dance is open! Join us on Saturday, February 8 for an evening of fun for PCS K-6th grade daughters. Event will be held at Plainwell MIddle School from 6:00-8:00 PM (doors open at 5:30 PM for pictures only) and includes a formal digital photo, DJ, selfie station, refreshments, raffle and a flower. Cost is $30 per couple ($10 each additional daughter).

Throughout the first trimester, the Gilkey Geckos worked hard on being good LEAD-ers by Listening carefully, Encouraging others, Acting safely and Doing the right thing. This week, the first trimester Gecko LEAD ticket winners enjoyed a pizza party and a trip to All That Athletics where they celebrated their positive behaviors. Special thanks to All That Athletics and Plainwell Pizza Hut for supporting the Gilkey Students. Along with the student’s hard work, your support helped create an awesome experience for our Gecko LEAD-ers! 🦎

We are excited to share that registration is open for our upcoming Winter Trojan Aquatic Club program. TAC is a competitive swim team for PCS youth ages 6-18. Program will run from December 16-February 15. Cost is $100 per athlete.
