Earlier this month, the PHS Red Cross Club organized a blood drive, successfully collecting 42 pints of blood, which can save up to 126 lives. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the donors and the Red Cross volunteers who made this event such a success.

Congratulations to Brooklyn Barrows and Joshua Pembrook who have earned acceptance to the 2026 MSBOA All State Band! Brooklyn and Joshua each passed a rigorous audition beating out hundreds of other auditionees throughout the state to earn this honor. For Joshua this is his 2nd straight year earning entrance to the All State Band. Please join us in congratulating these two outstanding student musicians!


Let’s take a moment to look back at Plainwell High School’s recent production of Back to the 80's! This show marked the third performance by the PHS Drama Class and it was truly outstanding! The students excelled in their roles both in the cast and crew. The production was exceptional and all three performances highlighted the incredible talents of our drama class students. Special thanks to everyone who attended one of the shows and to all those who played a part in bringing this production to life. 📸 Here are some highlights from the show!

The PHS Red Cross Club recently held their Winter Clothing Drive. As a school, they collected over 2,500 articles of clothing that will be donated to the Martin Resource Center, Kalamazoo Dream Center and the Kalamazoo Deacons Conference. Way to go, Trojans!

Shoutout to regional diving qualifier, Audra Huberty, who is excited to participate in the MHSAA regional diving qualification meet today. Audra is competing for a chance to represent Plainwell Swim and Dive at the state meet next weekend. Good luck, Audra - TROJAN PRIDE!

Earlier today, PHS had the privilege of hosting some distinguished guests as members of the Plainwell VFW came to donate a book written by a veteran. This generous contribution will make a wonderful addition to the high school library. It was an incredible honor to welcome these guests to PHS - thank you for your service! 🇺🇸

The Multicultural Club came together to assemble homeless kits and organize other donations for Christian Neighbors, supporting those experiencing homelessness in our community. This was a meaningful opportunity for PHS students to reflect on how fortunate we are to have everyday essentials that many go without. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated during the drive, your generosity makes a real difference!

Registration is open for our upcoming Winter Tae Kwon Do program. Join us to improve coordination, gain strength and increase your flexibility while learning self-defense techniques, taught by Mr. Mitch. Program is open to participants 7 and up and will run on Monday evenings from December 1-February 23 (excluding 12/22, 12/29 & 2/9) from 5:30-7:00 PM. Practices will be held at Plainwell Middle School. Cost is $60 per individual or $85 per family.

Join us for Otis Outdoors' 7th Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive! Each year, Otis Outdoors proudly supports our community by providing Thanksgiving dinner to 30+ local families. This year, you can help too! Participate in their 7th Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive by donating traditional Thanksgiving food items on Saturday, November 22 from 12:00-4:00 PM at Gun Plain Fire Department (381 8th Street, Plainwell).

Congratulations to the Girls Swim and Dive team who took home second place at the SCC championship meet this weekend! It was a close meet between Plainwell & Sturgis for second place and it came down to the last couple of events with Plainwell ending up in second by only 7 points! Highlights from the event include:
🏆 Sophia Vanheest was the backstroke champion
🏆 Olaia Dominguez Trincado qualified for state in the 200 IM
🏆 Sylar Luckett qualified for the state meet in the 100 free
🏆 In diving, Audra Huberty placed 7th, Makayla Oele placed 12th and Abbie Hansen placed 14th
🏆 All conference top 8 honors go to Sophia VanHeest, Brecken DeHaan, Olai Dominguez Trincado, Ellah Anderson, Sylar Luckett, Emily Skinner, Audra Huberty and Adalyn Miller.
🏆 Consolation finalist and 9-16 honors go to Ella McMeeken, Abby Unser, McKenna Mitzel, Peyton Damick, Annabell Castaneda and Audra Huberty.
Everyone achieved their personal best times of the season. Great job, Trojans - PLAINWELL PRIDE!

Swim & Dive Championship Update! The preliminaries are going well for the Plainwell Trojan Girls Swim team!! Several swimmers are set to compete in championship heats tomorrow. Early this week, students from Plainwell High School participated in a Wolverine Conference Leadership Workshop. This event provided an excellent chance to collaborate with peers from other schools while developing the leadership skills for “Today's Learners, Tomorrow's Leaders.”
