The Trojan Ski Team (Plainwell & Thornapple Kellogg) wrapped up their season in a big way! From carving it up at the Clare Invitational at Shanty Creek, to celebrating Senior Night at Bittersweet honoring our seniors Mark Gielincki and Gerrit Taber, to battling it out at Regionals at Cannonsburg, they ended their season with TROJAN PRIDE!
This team represented both of their schools throughout the season with grit, growth and great sportsmanship - GO TROJANS!

Celebrating Snowcoming: A Week of School Spirit! We had an amazing time celebrating Snowcoming. Throughout the district, buildings were filled with school spirit. Highlights from the week include:
👕 Our school buildings all organized special dress-up days, including: Pajama Day, Sports Day, Dress Like a Teacher Day, School Spirit Day and many more!
🏐 The Juniors faced off against the Seniors in the annual testosterone volleyball game, where the Seniors showcased their strength with a decisive 3-1 victory.
📣 On Friday, PHS hosted a pep assembly to honor our winter athletes and introduce the 2026 Snowcoming Court:
- Freshmen: Izik Lambert and Lileigh Goodacre
- Sophomores: Gavin Rayman and Claire Bradley
- Juniors: Trever Allen and Dylan Guarisco
- Snowcoming King Nominees: Grady Nugent, Caleb Braybrooks, Hiro Nguyen and Aidan Ranger
- Snowcoming Queen Nominees: Sam McDaniel, Anna Hall, Alayna Eldred and Brooklyn Wagenaar
🏀 The Field House gymnasium buzzed with Trojan Pride on Friday night as the Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball teams took on Otsego.
👑 During the game, our 2026 Snowcoming King and Queen were crowned. Congratulations to Chib Amaezechi and Lydia Roberts for being named Snowcoming King and Queen!
🎶 The week concluded in a vibrant neon-themed Snowcoming Dance, where the seniors celebrated with a special dance to their song, "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac.

The PHS Boys Basketball team played their final home game of the season last night against Gull Lake. The Trojans won 52-41 🏀 PLAINWELL PRIDE! 🏀

The Women’s Wrestling team competed at Districts yesterday, where they finished in 2nd place out of 28 schools as a team. The following wrestlers qualified to move on to regionals next week! GO TROJANS!

Congratulations to the Varsity Wrestling Team on winning their District Championship! The Trojans beat Gull Lake in the District Championship 51-21 to secure a trip to Team Regionals. Next up, they will travel to Middleville Thornapple-Kellogg on Wednesday, February 18 to chase a Team Regional Title. GO TROJANS!



Plainwell High School Band students performed on Saturday at MSBOA District XI Solo & Ensemble. Out of the 17 events, 9 of them walked away with second division medals and 6 others earned first division medals qualifying them for State Solo & Ensemble in March! Students that qualified for State include seniors Brooklyn Barrows, Jules Whitney, and Rachel Sherer; juniors Laynie Harris, Aiden Glass, and Kohler Smith; sophomores Joshua Pembrook, Astrid Boyer, Tessa Dunckel, and Elba Trowbridge; and freshman Olivia Blakely. Congratulations to all for your hard work and fantastic performances!

The PHS Girls Wrestling team competed on Friday in the Girls Southwest Conference Wrestling Finals. The event featured teams from various conferences, including Wolverine, I-A, SAC, SMAC and Southwest 10, with a total of 212 wrestlers participating. PHS secured an impressive 2nd place, with Madison Nieuwenhuis and Evangeline Coutuearning earning the title of Conference Champions in their weight classes! TROJAN PRIDE!

The Trojan Ski Team (Plainwell/Thornapple Kellogg) powered their way to a 3rd-place finish in their conference race at Timber Ridge last week! Their strong seniors, Mark Gielincki and Gerrit Tabor, led the way with consistency on the slopes, while Corben Harrington (freshman) and Ben White (junior) delivered great runs that helped lock in their podium finish. A special shout-out to PHS Principal, Mr. Marvin Taylor, for braving the cold to come cheer on all the Trojans!
