Due to weather, the track meet scheduled for today (Tuesday, March 31) against Otsego HS has been canceled.

Congratulations to the Varsity Baseball team for their impressive sweep of Otsego to start conference play last night. The team came from behind to win both games. This brings the Trojans record to 4-1 to start the year.

The Geckos at Gilkey Elementary welcomed a very special group during reading month to share their favorite books - PHS Varsity Football players! The PHS students dedicated part of their school day to read to the elementary students - Trojans leading Trojans! 📚💙🏈

Earlier this month, the Plainwell High School Red Cross Club hosted their spring blood drive, successfully collecting 44 units of blood, which can save 132 lives. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the donors and the Red Cross volunteers who made this event possible.

National Honor Society students, alongside adviser Emily Johnson, participated in the Allegan County Gives Fair to connect with community members about the impactful initiatives taking place in Allegan County. During the event, students had the opportunity to win a $50 gift card or a chance to donate $250 to a charity of their choice. Aubrie Witt and Avery Powell both won and chose to donate their money to a charity.

The Boys Swim and Dive team secured an impressive 13th place at the D3 State Meet in Holland over the weekend. Here are some highlights from the competition:
🏆 Sam Harper clinched his second STATE TITLE in the 500 freestyle and also achieved 4th place in the 200 freestyle.
⭐️ Aidan Ranger finished 9th in the state for 1 meter diving.
⭐️ The 200 freestyle relay team consisting of Ben Sparks, Joseph Hoffman, Davis Nooney and Sam Harper finished in 12th place.
⭐️ The 400 freestyle relay team of Grady Nugent, Joseph Hoffman, Davis Nooney and Sam Harper finished strong in 10th place.
⭐️ Philip Mathis had his best meet of the season in 1 meter diving.

Congratulations to PHS Senior, Hiro Nguyen, who is among approximately 15,000 high school seniors who have been recognized as a 2026 National Merit Scholarship Finalist! Hiro stands out as part of the 🥇 top 1% 🥇 of US high school students and the highest scorers on the 2024 PSAT/NMSQT. We are immensely proud of Hiro's remarkable academic success - PLAINWELL PRIDE!

The Plainwell Trojan student leaders officially conquered the MASC/MAHS State Leadership Conference! Eight delegates from PHS traveled to Grand Rapids to accept their mission at the ultimate leadership experience. They joined forces with 1,800 students from over 100 schools across Michigan for three action-packed days of connection and growth!
Grant Comer represents Plainwell as one of 32 total members on the State Board of Delegates where he had the opportunity to speak in front of the entire audience. His contributions were part of making the conference a success for all attendees.
From inspiring keynotes and epic student showcases to valuable time to network and share ideas, the Trojans are bringing back fresh ideas and incredible energy to make their school even better. We couldn't be prouder of how they represented Plainwell and showed the whole state what the PHS students are capable of - PLAINWELL PRIDE!

♻️ Recycling Challenge Update ♻️ Thank you to the Trojan community for your support of the Recycling Challenge program! With your support, in the last three years we have collected enough plastic to receive seven new benches throughout the district - THANK YOU!
We would like to share an update regarding the program, as there have been recent logistical changes. Beginning in May, the district will no longer serve as a drop-off location for plastic recycling. If you have plastic donations, they can be taken to other local sites for recycling.

Students in Mrs. Koenig’s CPR/First Aid class at PHS had a special opportunity with Jamie Landstra, a local paramedic with Plainwell EMS. Students had the opportunity to show the skills they had learned in class during a simulated medical scenario, with multiple victims requiring medical and trauma first aid treatment. It was a great learning experience, special thanks to Jamie and Plainwell EMS for sharing your knowledge with the Trojans!
