
In recognition of National Suicide Prevention Month, students at PHS met at the flagpole before school and held a moment of silence. This student-driven, heartfelt gathering provided a meaningful opportunity for students to unite, raise awareness and advocate for student mental health.


🚧 Downtown Plainwell Construction Update! 🚧 The City of Plainwell has just notified us that work on Main Street, between M-89 and Starr Road, will continue through today (Monday, September 22). From 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Main Street and all intersecting streets leading to it will be closed. Please be aware that you will need to find an alternative route until 8:00 PM today. Additionally, this closure may result in delays for afternoon bus transportation.

The Girls Cross Country team had a dominating, championship trophy winning performance at the Bangor Invite. In the varsity race, all seven girls medaled, placing in the top 17 finishers, led by runner-up sophomore Mai Nguyen. The JV race saw sophomore Samantha Corbin take the victory in convincing fashion, with the five other runners finishing in the top 15. Congrats to Brooke Carpenter, Megan VanDyke and Lyla Curry for their season best performances today. 👏 Congratulations Trojans! 👏


Today the Varsity Girls Golf team played in the M-89 Challenge and took first place with a score of 176 over 2nd place Otsego (198) and Hamilton (239). Seven of the nine golfers, playing either for the team score or as an individual, placed in the top 10!

⛳️ Others contributing to the team score were Sam Labonte with a 45, Emma Rayman 46 and Avery Powell 49

Congratulations to the Trojan Marching Band who earned a 2nd place finish at the Rockford Invitational! They not only secured their highest score for a "first show of the year" since rejoining MCBA in 2021 but also earned the "Best General Effect" caption. 👏

🚧 Construction Update! 🚧 We want to update you on the ongoing construction in downtown Plainwell. The City of Plainwell has informed us that the work on Main Street will continue through next week. Starting this afternoon, Main Street - between M-89 and Starr Road - will be completely closed. Please be advised that you will need to continue to seek an alternative route through next week.


To kick-off the school year, the PHS PALs group met with students to enjoy breakfast followed by activities and a tour of the high school for their new students. Trojans leading Trojans - it was a great way for students to come together and support one another.


The Varsity Girls Golf team took first place today at the Kate Kwasny Memorial Tournament at Eastern Hills with three girls placing in the top ten individually! Way to go, Trojans!! ⛳️


Aidan Ranger, a senior at PHS, is the MIHA (Michigan Interscholastic Horsemanship Association) District 15, Division D Champion for 2025. He will be moving on to compete in the MIHA Regional Championship in Berrien Springs from September 26-28. This marks the third consecutive year that Plainwell has claimed the District 15 Division D Championship - TROJAN PRIDE!


In honor of World Suicide Prevention Day on 9/10, staff at PHS wore shirts to promote mental health awareness. This served as a powerful reminder to everyone that “You Matter.”

The Girls Swim and Dive team beat Marshall by one point last night in their first dual meet of the season. Congratulations to Sofia VanHeest who qualified for state in the 500 free, Olaia who won the 50 free + 100 fly event, as well as Brecken DeHaan for winning the 200 IM. Other great swims by Peyton Damick, Emily Skinner and the rest of the team.
A special shoutout goes to Audra Huberty for winning the diving event, and to Makayla Oele for achieving a new PR in diving.

Shoutout to PHS Senior, Autumn Gravelyn, who earned her 2000th career assist tonight during the Trojans' victory over Hastings in three sets (25-8, 25-16, 25-8). Autumn is a senior captain and a 4 year varsity starter, whose leadership shines on off the court! PHS Varsity Coach Megan Black remarks, “Autumn truly runs the floor as our setter and is a key component to our team success.” Congratulations to Autumn and the Trojans on their success tonight at their first match at the new Field House - TROJAN PRIDE!
