🏆Plainwell Athletic Hall of Fame 2026 - Bill Switzer🏆
Plainwell Athletics is proud to announce that Bill Switzer was selected for the 2026 Plainwell Athletic Hall of Fame! Regarded as the architect of the program, Bill launched Plainwell Wrestling in 1964, transforming a student club into the school’s first varsity team by the 1965-66 season. Driven by the belief that athletics should be accessible to students of all sizes, he immersed himself in the sport through university camps and peer mentorship to establish a competitive foundation. His hands-on leadership guided the program’s first wave of talent, including conference champions and state qualifiers, before he transitioned to an assistant role in 1971. Although he retired from coaching in 1976, his vision and dedication established the enduring legacy and culture of Plainwell Wrestling.
📅 Induction Ceremony: The 2026 Hall of Fame inductees will be honored tonight (Friday, January 16) in between the Girls and Boys Varsity Basketball Games. Please join us in celebrating these Trojan greats and congratulating them on this well-deserved honor! 💙

The Trojan Ski Team, consisting of six boys from Plainwell High School and Thornapple-Kellogg High School, had the honor of volunteering at the Special Olympics of Southwest Michigan Winter Games. Throughout the event, the entire team showed amazing Trojan Pride! They arrived on time, worked diligently to set up and take down the course, and served as gatekeepers during two different levels of Giant Slalom and Slalom races. Most importantly, the athletes from PHS and TKHS provided unwavering support, encouragement, and celebration for the competitors throughout the event.
Shout-out to Mark Gielincki (TK), Nolan Prime (TK), Gerrit Taber (PHS), Benjamin White (PHS), Corben Harrington (PHS) and Malachi Water (PHS) - TROJAN PRIDE!

His career was defined by sheer dominance, accumulating 181 wins (2nd all-time), 337 takedowns, and multiple conference, district, and regional titles while surrendering historically few points.
