Last Friday, the PHS Multicultural Club dedicated their day off from school to volunteer at the Life Care Center of Plainwell and embark on a cultural field trip!
At the Life Care Center, students assisted in cleaning and organizing the activity room, played games with residents and raked leaves in the courtyard. This experience was meaningful for everyone involved, and the smiles of the residents made all their efforts worthwhile!
Following their volunteer work, the group attended the Día de Los Muertos "Day of the Dead" Celebration at the Kalamazoo Expo Center. Students delighted in delicious food, lively music and an inspiring performance by a traditional folkloric dance group. This experience truly brought the beauty of the culture to life for our club members!
We are incredibly proud of our students for choosing to spend their day off engaging in community service and cultural learning. It was a memorable day for these PHS students!
