Cameron Larsen, 7th Grader at Plainwell Middle School, was recently accepted by Team Impact. Team Impact is a program that "matches children facing serious illness and disability with college sports teams, creating a long-term, life-changing experience for everyone involved". Their mission is "to guide children and teams alike in a mutually beneficial relationship of belonging, empowerment, and resilience". At a young age, Cam was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes; however, this has not hindered his passion for athletics. Through Team Impact, he has been recruited by the Michigan State University Men's Golf Team to work with the coach and team twice a month. During his time with the program, Cam will have the opportunity to learn and further grow his passion for college athletics. It is Cam’s goal to play college sports one day and this opportunity will only grow his interest, while shining a light on youth living with T1D. From all of us at PCS - congratulations Cam!
