Congratulations to 8th graders Kohler Smith and Aiden Glass for earning spots in the MSBOA Middle School All-State Band! Kohler and Aiden auditioned among hundreds of students throughout the state to earn this experience. They spent all day rehearsing on Friday with other student musicians and put on a magnificent concert on Saturday morning!

The PMS Wrestling team traveled to Portage Northern this weekend and brought home 15 top 4 medals. Tournament Champions: Aiden Beck, Brennan Dull, Edwin Johnson, Grady Erlandson and Mason Capitano. Way to go, Trojans!

Congratulations to Plainwell Robotics Club's elementary school VEX IQ teams who had another successful weekend. Gilkey team "Gearheads" and Cooper team "TP Titans" joined forces and won the VEX IQ Robotics Tournament at Charlotte. The "Gearheads" placed first and the "TP Titans" placed 2nd after nine matches in the Qualifying Round. The two teams then formed the 1st place alliance and defeated the 2nd place alliance 98-97 in the Final Round. As a result of their win, the teams have received invitations to the State Elementary School VEX IQ Championship Tournament to be held at Monroe County Community College on March 11. Thirty-one middle and elementary school teams from central Michigan participated in the event, including four other PRC teams. Starr team "Robo Sharks" finished the tournament in 5th place and Gilkey team "Robot Guardians" finished eighth. Gilkey team "The Gecko Bots", and Starr team "Short Circuits" finished the Qualifying Rounds in 26th and 27th place.
PRC's Cooper team "The Rocket" had a very successful day, too. They chose to participate in the VEX IQ Tournament at Traverse City - another elementary and middle school event - where they placed 7th (of 33) after the Qualifying Round and finished 5th in the tournament's Final Round.
Congratulations to all seven team's members, coaches, and parents!

Recently, the Plainwell Middle School NJHS had a Penny War and the 6th graders raised the most money. Earlier this week, two students were selected from the winning class to pie Mrs. Noto Cassada and Mr. Rushford. It was a lot of fun, with many laughs by all!

It was an awesome night at the 2022 Shop with a Hero event at Meijer in Plainwell. On Monday, we gave out 130 - $150 gift cards to Meijer at our Shop with a Hero event. What a special time for the PCS students, as well as the 30 local heroes that helped them holiday shop. We are so grateful to our anonymous donor for providing this amazing opportunity for our students every year, it touches the lives of so many. We are also very thankful to local heroes and volunteers for making this such a special event for our Middle School Students. THANK YOU to everyone that made this night so incredibly special!

Another wall mural masterpiece by PHS 10th grader Sarah Lagenour has been completed at Plainwell Middle School. This mural is an original of her 2020/21 yearbook cover. Sarah’s art skills are absolutely incredible and we are so grateful that she shared her talents for all to enjoy for years to come at PMS. Next up, she will be painting another mural in the 6th grade hallway after break. Trojan Pride!
