
We are excited to share some additional highlights from the Unified Champions Conference! During the conference, Rebecca Ruimveld (Middle School Math Teacher) and Madison Johnson (School Social Worker) had the opportunity to speak. During their presentation, they talked about the Middle School’s involvement in the Spread the Word Inclusion Campaign as it relates to their Unified Champions Program while showcasing the PMS Inclusion Week that occurred last school year. It was an enriching few days filled with learning and sharing for these dedicated Trojan staff members - PLAINWELL PRIDE!


Several staff members from PCS had the chance to participate in a Unified Champions conference organized by Special Olympics. During the two-day event in Frankenmuth, the team collaborated to deepen their knowledge and enhance our Unified Champions program at Plainwell. The team is excited to bring the insights they've gained to improve our programs for the upcoming school year.


Attention Trojan Athletes! We are excited about the upcoming year and the athletic opportunities available at Plainwell Community Schools. High School sports kick-off on August 11 and details regarding the start dates and times for Middle School sports will be shared shortly!
As we quickly approach the start of the Fall Sports Season, we want to share a few essential reminders to ensure you are prepared for the season ahead!
1. Athletic Physical: Athletes must have a physical dated on or after April 15, 2025 to participate in a sport during the 2025-2026 school year. Once completed, please take a picture of your physical form and upload it to Final Forms.
2. Final Forms Account Update: Parents and students will need to update their Final Forms account, complete all necessary forms and sign-up for tryouts. Please check your email for more information. IMPORTANT: All Final Forms information must be completed and up to date by the first day of tryouts/practice in order to participate.

As we prepare for the 2025/26 school year, we wanted to share some information from our Food Service team!
☑️ To begin the school year, all students will have access to FREE breakfast and lunch through September 30!
☑️ Under the current plan, beginning October 1, 2025 families must complete the Education and Nutrition Benefits application to receive free and reduced breakfast/lunch.

We are just over a month away from the start of the 2025/26 school year. We look forward to welcoming the Trojans back to school on Monday, August 25 (half day). Please be aware that there has been a minor adjustment to the calendar since our last update: the half day originally scheduled for October 9 has now been moved to May 21. As a reminder, there is still time to sign-up for our upcoming Rocket Football programs:
🏈 Rocket/Flag Football Camp: Camp will be held next week (July 30 & 31) for K-6th graders. Registration remains open until camp begins; however, limited t-shirt sizes will be available.
🏈 2025 Pee Wee/Rocket/Flag Football Program: The K-6th grade youth football season will begin in mid-August. The 2025 Rocket, Flag and Pee Wee Football programs will provide an introduction to Plainwell's football program with an emphasis on learning skills while having fun. Registration closes for all three programs on August 1.

We are thrilled to share that Mr. Brian Huberty has been appointed as the new Assistant Principal at Plainwell High School. Mr. Huberty steps into this position after many years of dedicated service as an educator and coach at PHS. He brings a positive outlook, excellent communication and a focus on building relationships with students and families. Mr. Huberty is excited about this new opportunity at Plainwell High School, where he looks forward to serving as the new assistant principal while also maintaining his role as Head Football Coach in the upcoming fall season.

We are excited to share the Summer Walking Track hours. Beginning Monday, June 16, the Field House Walking Track will be open from Monday-Friday 12:30-2:00 PM. When you arrive at the Field House, please sign-in. All minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Please note, the Walking Track will be closed on the following dates:

The Middle School Girls Blue Soccer Team had an outstanding season, where they demonstrated exceptional skill, teamwork and determination. They concluded their season undefeated, with only one game ending in a tie. We are incredibly proud of these talented athletes and all they have accomplished. If you’ve passed the Middle School recently, you may have noticed a new addition - a new crossing light! This purchase was made through a partnership between the city and the school. This new addition will assist students in crossing the busy intersection at Brigham Street and Starr Road. Special thanks to the city for your support with purchasing and installing this new safety feature at PCS.

Three Plainwell Middle School students were recognized at the Plainwell Community Schools Board of Education meeting on May 19 for their quick action in assisting a bus driver with a medical emergency. The students immediately called 911, speaking with an emergency dispatcher and relaying vital information while other emergency personnel responded. Plainwell Community Schools would like to thank these students for their swift actions in assisting our driver.
