FALL CHOIR CONCERT: The We Will Rock You Fall Concert was outstanding last night. The 7th, 8th, PHS Choirs and PHS Honors Choirs rocked while performing some of rocks greatest hits. Here are some highlights from the awesome performance at the PAC - Plainwell Pride!
MATH NATION AWARD: Congratulations to Plainwell Middle School 8th grader Hayden Steele who recently received a special award from Math Nation! Math Nation is a program that is used at the Middle School that "is a dynamic online (and printed workbook) resource that helps students master middle and high school mathematics". Hayden used the online Algebra Wall feature that Math Nation offers to interact and ask questions earning her the Top 5 Karma Points Statewide in Algebra I from Math Nation. Yesterday, Ms. Dye from Math Nation stopped by the Middle School to give Hayden a special award and prize package! Keep up the great work - Plainwell Pride!

TROJAN FOOTBALL: The Plainwell Middle School Football team and Cheerleaders braved the cold and showed true Plainwell Trojan Spirit tonight at their home football game at Streidl Field! Trojan Pride!
COOPER MONSTER MASH: Mark your calendar to join us at Cooper Elementary for their 2022 Monster Mash - Halloween Costume Party next week. Wear your costume and enjoy trick or treating, food trucks and FUN on October 27 from 5-7 PM.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Volunteers will be asked to:
- Assist with setting-up tables and chairs
- Dress-up in costume to hand out candy
- General assistance
- Clean-up

STARR CARNIVAL: Join Starr Elementary this Saturday, October 22 from 12-4 PM for the Starr Fall Carnival to enjoy vendors, food trucks, face painting, carnival games (tickets are $.50 each), a pumpkin patch, crafts and more!

ACTIVITIES UPDATE (10/17): We are happy to share that all PCS afternoon/evening activities for today (Monday, October 17) will be held as previously planned. If any cancellations are needed, it will be communicated from the program coach or director. Go Trojans!
NO SCHOOL TODAY (10/17): Plainwell Community Schools will have no school today due to a gas main being hit on the corner of South Main and Starr which has caused the intersection to be blocked and a gas outage to our buildings with no timeline on a possible all clear.
A decision on after school activities will be made by noon but we are hopeful that those will not be impacted.

INCENTIVE DAY: At Plainwell Middle School, they have a PRIDE program which stands for positivity, respect, integrity, determination and everyone’s safety in mind. Recently, the students filled their PRIDE pass box and earned an incentive day where they enjoyed basketball, classroom games, movies, legos, trivia, etc. We are so proud of our Middle School students for working hard to earn this special afternoon and are thankful to the PBIS team for making possible!
NATIONAL COACHES DAY: Today is National Coaches Day and we couldn’t let the day pass without saying THANK YOU to the amazing coaching staff at Plainwell Community Schools! OPERATING MILLAGE PROPOSAL: On November 8, 2022, Plainwell Community Schools’ voters will have the opportunity to vote on an Operating Millage "Headlee override" Proposal which would allow the district to continue to collect the full 18 mills voters approved at the May 2014 election. TINKERING CLASS: Students in Mr. Herbert’s 7th grade Tinkering class at Plainwell Middle School have been making tables and cell phone charging stations. What a great class and fun project for these students!
MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE: Students in Mrs. Ramsey’s and Ms. Termeer’s 6th grade science classes at Plainwell Middle School have been learning to use microscopes. It’s great to see these scientists excited to learn! 🔬
