Registration is open to join the STATE FINALIST PHS Cheer Team for their upcoming 1st-7th grade cheer clinics. Practice cheerleading techniques, tumbling and stunting with our high school athletes and coaches. Clinic will be held on Wednesday evenings from May 7-28. The 1st-4th grade clinic will be held from 5:00-6:00 PM and the 5th-7th grade clinic will be held from 6:00-7:00 PM. Improve your skills and feel the excitement! Cost is $55 per athlete. Trojans making a difference! Mrs. Johnson and 29 dedicated PHS students volunteered for three hours, collecting more than 60 bags of trash along 131. Thank you to these students for their hard work and commitment to making a difference in our community.

LIFELONG LEARNERS 📅 MARK YOUR CALENDARS! We are excited to share three upcoming Spring Lifelong Learners events! 🎶 The Joshua Tree Concert (open to the public): Join us at the Plainwell Performing Arts Center on April 29 from 1:00-3:00 PM for a FREE concert featuring The Joshua Tree. All are welcome to enjoy an afternoon filled with the smooth sounds of The Joshua Tree. 🎉 Cinco de BINGO! Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with the Lifelong Learners group on May 6 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. Enjoy a FREE Fiesta Luncheon, followed by BINGO with Joe Gross at the Ransom District Library. ⚾ Join us for food and fun at a Growlers Baseball Game on May 28. Registration is still open for the upcoming PCS Summer Volleyball Camps! Two opportunities are available for the Trojans: - PLAINWELL VOLLEYBALL CAMP: PHS students, as well as 1st-6th graders are invited to join us for a Summer Volleyball Camp. Camp will be held from June 9-12 at the Plainwell Field House with three times available: High School from 8:00-10:00 AM, 1st-3rd grade from 10:30-11:30 AM and 4th-6th grade from 12:00-1:30 PM. Cost is $50 per athlete. We are excited to offer a NEW Parent & Tot Swim Class for ages 2-5. The 30 minute class will focus on water acclimation and water safety. During the class, the participating adult MUST be in the water with the child and instructor at all times. Two sessions available: - Session I: Saturday mornings (11:15-11:45 AM) from May 17-June 14 - Session II: Saturday mornings (11:15-11:45 AM) from June 21-July 26 (excluding July 5) Classes are limited to 10 participants, so register today! Plainwell Middle School kicked off their soccer season with an impressive 6-2 victory over Paw Paw! The team demonstrated great knowledge of the game, showcased excellent chemistry and displayed outstanding defense that contributed significantly to securing the win. It was a fantastic start to the season!

Recently, MLive published an article highlighting standout high school softball players in the Kalamazoo area for this season. Among those featured was Madison Seibert, a senior shortstop entering her fourth year on the varsity team at PHS. In 2024, Madison achieved an impressive .488 batting average, with 14 RBIs, 29 runs scored and a .945 fielding percentage. As she steps into her senior year, she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Trojan Softball Program. Alongside Madison, Sophia Barth, Sophie Munch and Samantha McDaniel received honorable mention recognition in the article. Wishing the PHS Softball team a fantastic season – GO TROJANS!

There is no cost and while there is no minimum age, anyone under 10 must have a parent or guardian with them.

Due to predicted colder temperatures, the PHS Track and Field Meet scheduled for Tuesday, April 15 has been moved to Wednesday, April 16. It will be held at Vicksburg High School. Field Events will begin at 4:00 PM, followed by running events at 5:15 PM. GO TROJANS!

Middle School Athletes of the Week - Bri Ryan, MariStella Cassada and Glen Raab! Congratulations to these three outstanding student-athletes who were nominated: - Bri Ryan - Bri did an awesome job this season. She tried something new and was a great partner to our athletes. She was always there to support without being asked. - MariStella Cassada - Mari has been part of the softball team for 3 years and has shown up to workouts before the season and puts 100% effort into every practice she is at. She is a hard worker and it is noticed she puts in her full effort every time she is on the field. Keep up the hard work Mari. - Glen Raab - Glen deserves Athlete of the Week for his consistent dedication to practice, always showing up prepared and with a positive attitude. In games, he’s been exceptional, shooting well, playing stellar defense, and grabbing key rebounds. We’re all incredibly proud of his hard work and accomplishments—go Glen! The 2025 7th grade Plainwell Middle School Bridge Builders will be remembered as one of the most accomplished classes in the history of the program. Recently, five teams were selected to compete in the state competition on April 10 in Grand Rapids. Congratulations to the following students who are part of the state qualifying teams: Levi Corning, Jackson Stull, Carter Torres, Joshua Preuss, Remington Randall, Parker Edds, Jude Southwick, Zander HInga, Eric Lewis, Peyton Beck, Maylie Hoffmann, Ava VanDenBerg, Sydney Wilson, Gabrielle Browneye, Mya Mansfield and Briella Williams. In addition to this upcoming competition and a first for Plainwell Middle School Bridge Builders, Levi Corning, Jackson Stull and Carter Torres were also selected to represent their community and state in the National Competition in Hartford, CT in May! Congratulations to the Middle School Bridge Builders - PLAINWELL PRIDE!

Plainwell Middle School ECO Club has been hard at work maintaining the building courtyards. This past week, they moved 15 cubic yards of mulch into the space. A big thanks goes to Tim Bowman from Total Property Management for donating woodchips. Also thank you to all the Middle School staff and students who took on this monumental project.

This week, Plainwell Middle School held their 2025 Inclusion Week. Throughout this week, the Unified Champions Club hosted special activities, opportunities and spirit days to celebrate. They kicked off the week with an exciting basketball game featuring the Unified Champions team vs. Teachers. The event was fantastic, with the stands filled with Trojan spirit as everyone cheered for the teams. It was a great week at PMS!

Cooper's Young Fives celebrated Reading Month with a visit to Ransom Library. Miss Erin read some stories, sang songs and played a game with the students. They also were able to visit the 3-D printing lab to see how 3-D printing works! They ended their field trip with some time in the Children's library and with a special trinket from the 3-D printing lab.
