The Girls Cross Country team had a dominating, championship trophy winning performance at the Bangor Invite. In the varsity race, all seven girls medaled, placing in the top 17 finishers, led by runner-up sophomore Mai Nguyen. The JV race saw sophomore Samantha Corbin take the victory in convincing fashion, with the five other runners finishing in the top 15. Congrats to Brooke Carpenter, Megan VanDyke and Lyla Curry for their season best performances today. 👏 Congratulations Trojans! 👏

Today the Varsity Girls Golf team played in the M-89 Challenge and took first place with a score of 176 over 2nd place Otsego (198) and Hamilton (239). Seven of the nine golfers, playing either for the team score or as an individual, placed in the top 10!
⛳️ Individual medalist went to Ayla Jaeger with a 36
⛳️ Others contributing to the team score were Sam Labonte with a 45, Emma Rayman 46 and Avery Powell 49

The Allegan County Great Start Collaborative has been awarded grant funding from the Perrigo Foundation to enhance water safety in schools throughout Allegan County. This funding has allowed us to purchase life jackets for Plainwell Community Schools, ensuring that students have access to them during their visits to the pool. Andrea Murphy, the Pool Director at PCS, stated, “It has truly made a significant difference in these kids' lives!” Thank you Help Me Grow Allegan and Perrigo Foundation for your support of PCS!

Many of the PHS clubs, programs and activities are underway for the 2025/26 school year. It’s wonderful to see our students engaging and forming connections through these programs.

In celebration of one of their teacher's birthdays, the staff at Cooper Elementary dressed up as Mrs. Beach. They wore inspirational shirts to reflect her signature style. This was a special way for the staff to celebrate her and promote kindness throughout the school today.

We are excited to share that registration is open for our upcoming Youth Kickers Soccer program for K-5th graders. The goal of the Kickers program is to experience the sport, understand the rules and have fun!

Over the summer, Aiden Mallory successfully completed a sensory pathway and balance beam on the lower elementary playground at Starr Elementary for his Eagle Scout project. Aiden's goal was to create a space for students of all abilities to enjoy. Thank you, Aiden for selecting Starr Elementary for this wonderful initiative!

Congratulations to the Trojan Marching Band who earned a 2nd place finish at the Rockford Invitational! They not only secured their highest score for a "first show of the year" since rejoining MCBA in 2021 but also earned the "Best General Effect" caption. 👏
Next up, they will compete at the Jenison Invitational in two weeks. 🎶 PLAINWELL PRIDE! 🎶

Starting this afternoon, Main Street - between M-89 and Starr Road - will be completely closed. Please be advised that you will need to continue to seek an alternative route through next week.
