News from PHS Cross Country! Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team on their win at the Bangor Invite yesterday with a low score of 29. The team won the meet by 87 points. Also, a special shout out to Henry Cox! Recently, Henry competed in an Invitational where he ran the 2nd fastest time in Plainwell school history with a 16:05 5k. Way to go, Henry - Trojan Pride!

The Boys Varsity Tennis Team had a great week! Earlier this week, they hosted and defeated Otsego with a team score of 5-3! At the match, the senior athletes were also recognized. The Girls Cross Country team split results in their Tri-Meet with Niles and Vicksburg yesterday. The girls fell to Niles, 24-31 and defeated Vicksburg, 25-34. Emma Taggett was the top Trojan finisher, with a PXC Course personal best time. Other strong race performances were given by: Anna Hall, Brooke Carpenter, Hannah Erlandson, Gwen Todd and Alexa Salo. Way to go, Trojans!

On Friday, during the Varsity Football game against Sturgis, the PHS Cheer team held their Junior Cheer Night. Over 75 junior (K-8th grade) cheerleaders participated in cheering during the first quarter of the game. It was so much fun for our younger Trojans and an awesome night filled with Plainwell Pride!

Congratulations to the PHS Swim and Dive team on winning their conference meet against Sturgis last night! The team competed strongly and ended the meet with a 104-81 win! Great swims by Izzy Stewart, McKenna Soderquist, Ellah Anderson, McKenna Mitzel, Addison Williams, Heidi Ragainis, Liv Perrin, Gabby Northern, Lily Inquilla and the rest of the team. PHS Students, Aidan Ranger and Selah Smith competed in their final Equestrian Club District Meet on Sunday. They placed first in all three of their District Meets (8/26, 8/27 and 9/10) winning the Championship for Division D. Being one of the top two teams in their division means they now move on to Regionals which will be in Berrien Springs beginning September 29. These two are outstanding equestrians and their hard work continues to pay off. Way to go, Trojans!

The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams had excellent performances at the Delton-Kellogg Invitational tonight. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: - The Boys team placed their top 7 in the first 21 runners for a first place team score of 36 points. - The Girls team’s top 5 all finished in the top 25 to win medals and lead the girls to a runner-up finish, behind state ranked GR Covenant Christian. - Medalists for the Trojans include: Josie Longcore, Emma Taggett, Hannah Erlandson, Gwen Todd, Raya Mergen-Henry, Henry Cox, Isaac Veen, Donovan Ryan, Liam Troutner, Hiro Nguyen and Trent Hansen. - Big congratulations go out to Junior Henry Cox for his first HS victory!
