
ACTIVITIES UPDATE (10/17): We are happy to share that all PCS afternoon/evening activities for today (Monday, October 17) will be held as previously planned. If any cancellations are needed, it will be communicated from the program coach or director. Go Trojans!


NO SCHOOL TODAY (10/17): Plainwell Community Schools will have no school today due to a gas main being hit on the corner of South Main and Starr which has caused the intersection to be blocked and a gas outage to our buildings with no timeline on a possible all clear.
A decision on after school activities will be made by noon but we are hopeful that those will not be impacted.

FALL CHOIR CONCERT: We are just one week away from the We Will Rock You Fall Choir Concert. Join us for this free concert featuring the 7th, 8th, PHS Choirs and PHS Honors Choirs as they perform some of rocks biggest hits on Thursday, October 20 at 7:30 PM at the Plainwell Performing Arts Center. We look forward to a great show by the PCS Choir programs!


INCENTIVE DAY: At Plainwell Middle School, they have a PRIDE program which stands for positivity, respect, integrity, determination and everyone’s safety in mind. Recently, the students filled their PRIDE pass box and earned an incentive day where they enjoyed basketball, classroom games, movies, legos, trivia, etc. We are so proud of our Middle School students for working hard to earn this special afternoon and are thankful to the PBIS team for making possible!


NATIONAL COACHES DAY: Today is National Coaches Day and we couldn’t let the day pass without saying THANK YOU to the amazing coaching staff at Plainwell Community Schools! OPERATING MILLAGE PROPOSAL: On November 8, 2022, Plainwell Community Schools’ voters will have the opportunity to vote on an Operating Millage "Headlee override" Proposal which would allow the district to continue to collect the full 18 mills voters approved at the May 2014 election. Please review these frequently asked questions to get an understanding of how this Proposal will affect you. TINKERING CLASS: Students in Mr. Herbert’s 7th grade Tinkering class at Plainwell Middle School have been making tables and cell phone charging stations. What a great class and fun project for these students!


MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE: Students in Mrs. Ramsey’s and Ms. Termeer’s 6th grade science classes at Plainwell Middle School have been learning to use microscopes. It’s great to see these scientists excited to learn! 🔬


PCS FOOD SERVICE MENUS: We are aware of an issue with the Nutrislice website. Unfortunately the system is currently down and not syncing food service menus. We apologize for the inconvenience - we are currently working diligently to get the system back up and running. Thank you in advance for your understanding!


KAYAKING TRIP: On Friday, the Plainwell Middle School Michigan Exploration Class went on a kayaking trip. What a great way to explore our great state - it was a beautiful day and a great experience for these students!


NATIONAL CUSTODIAN DAY: It’s National Custodian Day! We are so grateful for our custodial team, who work hard each day to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for our students and staff! Thank you to each of our custodians for your constant hard work and dedication to PCS and making our district sparkle - you are so appreciated! Plainwell Pride!


2022 HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME: What an awesome night at the 2022 PHS Homecoming Football Game! Highlights include: an outstanding performance of the national anthem by the PHS choir, a hard played game by the PHS varsity football team that went into overtime, an exceptional halftime show by the marching band, an awesome cheerleading squad to cheer on the Trojans, a stadium full of school spirit, the announcement of the 2022 Homecoming Court and the crowning of the 2022 Homecoming King and Queen. A special congratulations to Isabelle DeLaet and Dane Jorgensen on becoming the 2022 Homecoming King and Queen!
The Trojans came up a little short in overtime with a 28-21 loss to Niles, but it was still a great night with lots of Trojan pride! Way to go, Trojans!

2022 HOMECOMING PARADE: Join us today (9/30) to support PHS and cheer on the Trojans at the 2022 Homecoming Parade beginning at 1:20 PM. Students, staff, PCS families and the community are welcome to join us for the parade to celebrate Homecoming Spirit Week and to cheer on the Trojans prior to their football game against Niles at 7 PM. GO TROJANS!


MIDDLE SCHOOL RECEIVES SPECIAL AWARDS: Congratulations to Plainwell Middle School on receiving two awards from the State of Michigan! The Middle School earned an MTSS Data Utilization Award for using data to enhance interventions and supports for all students. The Middle School also received a Bronze Award for Implementation and Impact of the building’s Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) program. Even better than winning awards, these programs are impacting students every day. Great job Plainwell Middle School staff! Trojan Pride!


MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND: The 7th grade band students from Plainwell Middle School had an awesome field trip to TreeRunner Park in Grand Rapids today! It was a great day of team building and adventure for these band students!


MEET THE CANDIDATES: As a reminder, the Meet the Candidates event is TONIGHT (Tuesday, September 27) at 7 PM. Join us to meet the 2022 Board of Education Election Candidates. In-person attendees will have the opportunity to meet and submit questions to learn about the candidates to prepare for voting. Your vote matters, as the Plainwell Board of Education has four openings that will be on the ballot on November 8, 2022.
