The Plainwell Middle School 6th, 7th and Jazz Band students kicked off the holiday season with an outstanding performance at the Performing Arts Center. Earlier this week, the students performed at their Winter Band Concert and they did an AMAZING job performing. We are excited to share that registration for the 2025 Daughter Dance is open! Join us on Saturday, February 8 for an evening of fun for PCS K-6th grade daughters. Event will be held at Plainwell MIddle School from 6:00-8:00 PM (doors open at 5:30 PM for pictures only) and includes a formal digital photo, DJ, selfie station, refreshments, raffle and a flower. Cost is $30 per couple ($10 each additional daughter). The Plainwell Robotics Club held its 4th Annual Middle School Robotics Tournament on Saturday, November 23 at Plainwell High School. Twenty-one teams from across lower and western Michigan participated. Two of the Plainwell Club's teams were presented with awards to recognize their achievements at the event. Team "Gear Gremlins" received the Build Award, which recognizes a well-constructed robot that is built with a high degree of attention to detail in order to hold up to the rigors of competition. The team consists of Lydia, Mia, Audrey and Alyssa. They are coached by Julie Williams and Matt Warren. Team "Rubber Ducky Squad" received the Judges Award, which recognizes team attributes deserving of special recognition. The event judges made special mention of the team's exemplary teamwork and effort. The team consists of Ethan, Landon, Lennox and Gabriel. They are coached by Summer Rosati and Matt Glass.

The Junior Spikers program concluded this weekend. Designed for girls in grades 3-5, this program emphasizes fun and skill development. Last chance - deadline to purchase tickets is November 25 at 11:59 PM! Tickets are still available for our upcoming Family Hockey Night at Wings Event Center. We are excited to host this first ever event on Saturday, November 30 at 7:00 PM. Join us as the Kalamazoo Wings take on the Toledo Walleye at their Lavender Ice Game. Families will enjoy the game, a $5 concession voucher, free knit hat and a voucher for a free game of bowling at Airway Fun Center. Tickets are available for $17/adults, $14/kids (12 and under). PLEASE NOTE: Children's tickets ($14) will show up once you are on the screen to select your seat. Transportation is not available and parking is $5 per car at the event. Interested in tickets? Field House progress update! Over the last month, work has continued on the pool tile and bleachers were added in the gymnasium. It has been exciting to see these various interior projects come together. Soon, the Trojans will be competing in the new Field House and we owe it all to the Plainwell community for supporting the 2019 bond proposal! We look forward to welcoming our students, families and community to this new facility in December! GO TROJANS!

Middle Schools Boys Basketball weekly results! 🏀The 6th grade basketball team has started their season out strong with two impressive wins against tough rivals Otsego and the Trojans of Sturgis. Their hard work and determination are really paying off. 🏀 The 7th grade basketball team has carried their chemistry from last year into this season, starting off hot with a 2-0 record. They secured an impressive overtime victory against Otsego and won a hard fought game against a tough Sturgis team. 🏀 The 8th grade basketball team is facing some tough injuries, but they are still going and competing, giving their all. Their resilience and determination show how inspired they are to do better every game. The season continues for all three teams on Monday, against a difficult Vicksburg team. Good luck, Trojans!

Registration is open for our upcoming Winter Tae Kwon Do program. Join us to improve coordination, gain strength and increase your flexibility while learning self-defense techniques, taught by Mr. Mitch. Tae Kwon Do is open to participants 7 and up. Program will run from December 2-February 17 from 5:30-7:00 PM. Practices will be held at the Middle School Cafeteria (except 12/2 will be held at Starr).
