Congratulations to Estephanie Matias, Mason Ritchie and Ally Souhan for their participation and performance in the WMU MidFest band last night at Miller Auditorium! They had the opportunity to connect with students from across Michigan, work with a clinician from Texas and perform alongside the WMU Concert Band. Congratulations to Maristella Cassada, Olivia Jankowski and Estephanie Matias on their audition, acceptance and performance in yesterday's MSBOA District XI Middle School Honors Band! Estephanie sat principal (first chair) of her section and both Maristella and Olivia sat principal (first chair) of the second part of their sections! These students went above and beyond to not only learn their Plainwell band music, but also put in extra time practicing their honor band music. They spent all day at Marshall HS with Mrs. Lori VonKoenig (retired music educator from Stevensville Lakeshore and recipient of the MSBOA Teacher of the Year) playing with other students from Kalamazoo, Branch, St. Joseph, Calhoun and Allegan counties. The performance was absolutely wonderful and we are so proud of these star musicians! Please mark your calendar for the upcoming Winter Band Concerts on December 3 (6th and 7th Grade) and December 12 (8th Grade).
