Registration is open for our upcoming Winter Tae Kwon Do program. Join us to improve coordination, gain strength and increase your flexibility while learning self-defense techniques, taught by Mr. Mitch. Tae Kwon Do is open to participants 7 and up. Program will run from December 2-February 17 from 5:30-7:00 PM. Practices will be held at the Middle School Cafeteria (except 12/2 will be held at Starr). Congratulations to Estephanie Matias, Mason Ritchie and Ally Souhan for their participation and performance in the WMU MidFest band last night at Miller Auditorium! They had the opportunity to connect with students from across Michigan, work with a clinician from Texas and perform alongside the WMU Concert Band. Estephanie even had the honor of reading some program notes to the audience! We are incredibly proud of these talented musicians for going above and beyond! 🎶
Tickets are still available for our upcoming Family Hockey Night at Wings Event Center. We are excited to host this first ever event on Saturday, November 30 at 7:00 PM. Join us as the Kalamazoo Wings take on the Toledo Walleye at their Lavender Ice Game. Families will enjoy the game, a $5 concession voucher, free knit hat and a voucher for a free game of bowling at Airway Fun Center. Tickets are available for $17/adults, $14/kids (12 and under). PLEASE NOTE: Children's tickets ($14) will show up once you are on the screen to select your seat. Transportation is not available and parking is $5 per car at the event.

Congratulations to Maristella Cassada, Olivia Jankowski and Estephanie Matias on their audition, acceptance and performance in yesterday's MSBOA District XI Middle School Honors Band! Estephanie sat principal (first chair) of her section and both Maristella and Olivia sat principal (first chair) of the second part of their sections!
These students went above and beyond to not only learn their Plainwell band music, but also put in extra time practicing their honor band music. They spent all day at Marshall HS with Mrs. Lori VonKoenig (retired music educator from Stevensville Lakeshore and recipient of the MSBOA Teacher of the Year) playing with other students from Kalamazoo, Branch, St. Joseph, Calhoun and Allegan counties. The performance was absolutely wonderful and we are so proud of these star musicians!

Yesterday, the Middle School students took part in a mock election. This provided a fantastic learning opportunity for the Trojans to understand the voting process.
Thank you to the community for voting yesterday. Unfortunately, the Plainwell Community Schools 2024 revised bond proposal was not approved by voters. We will continue to evaluate and pursue all options to address our district needs. Please stay tuned.

Grades K-8 are welcome to join the PHS competitive cheer teams for a fun holiday mini camp filled with cheer stunts, mini routines, games and crafts! Plainwell Middle School students recently celebrated together at their first all-school party of the year. The after-school event featured a variety of activities, including crafts, open gym, dancing and snacks. Special thanks goes out to the Middle School Parent Club/parent volunteers for organizing and hosting such a fantastic event for our 6th-8th grade students – the event was a hit!
Security best practices recommend glazed windows and secure door sidelites, two elements that the bond would fund. Don't forget to vote by November 5!
