The Plainwell High School Student Senate recently had the chance to participate in the Michigan Association of Student Councils (MASC) leadership conference held in Grand Rapids. Grant Comer, a senior at PHS and a member of the Student Board of Delegates for MASC, played an active role in the conference by leading various sessions. This experience allowed Grant and fellow PHS students to engage and collaborate with peers from schools all over the state. Today’s Learners, Tomorrow’s Leaders - PLAINWELL PRIDE!

Students from PHS recently had the chance to put their radio skills to the test when Mr. Hurley accompanied a group of students to Jethro FM, a communications company that operates several local radio stations. During their visit, students wrote commercial scripts and produced radio advertisements. The commercials will be used on the radio and within the school to promote PHS, highlight Trojan news and provide students with important announcements and updates. It was a great learning experience and fantastic opportunity for the Trojans!

It’s more than just a competition, and that was proudly displayed in the Varsity Soccer game last night against Niles! To kick-off the game, both teams came together to provide a special moment for Felipe, an exchange student from Brazil. Felipe had his season cut short due to injury, but thanks to the PHS coaching staff, along with the support of the Niles Varsity Soccer team and the referees, he was given the opportunity for one final touch in a game setting. This incredible gesture showcased remarkable sportsmanship from everyone involved. While Felipe’s influence extends far beyond what can be captured in a single moment, we are immensely grateful to both teams for supporting this memorable experience for him.
