
The JV Boys Golf team competed in a tournament at The Legends in Hastings today. As a team, they finished in 3rd place, with two top 10 finishes by Reece Trahan (83) and Sawyer McCall (89). Way to go, Trojans!


Congratulations to the PHS Boys 4x800 team who won with a new invite record of 8:23.5 at the Kent City Invite today. Way to go, Trojans - PLAINWELL PRIDE!


Congratulations to the Girls Swim & Dive team who earned Academic All State Team Honors. This is given to teams that have a collective 3.5 GPA or higher. In addition, congratulations to the following seniors who earned Academic All State Individual Honors: Audrey MacQueen, Audrey Todd, Elizabeth French, Ella Way, Lily Inquilla, Liv Perrin and Sydney Harper. This award goes to seniors who have a 3.65 GPA or higher. Way to go Trojans, PLAINWELL PRIDE!

Our Kindergarten and Young 5 Round-up is next week! Join us for this special event to welcome the 2024-25 Kindergarten and Young 5 students to Plainwell Community Schools. Students/families can: meet the staff, sign-up for readiness testing, receive vision & hearing screenings (limited availability), enjoy sample bus rides and more!

Gilkey Elementary held their April Student and Staff of the Month ceremony. Each month, Gilkey teachers select one student and a staff member who they felt did an outstanding job throughout the month and the recipients are celebrated at a special award ceremony with their families. In April, those who were selected did an awesome job showing compassion. Way to go, Geckos!


Yesterday the Middle School Jazz Band traveled to Hastings for the TAC Jazz Festival! They had an incredible performance, learned a lot from their clinician Joel Shaner and enjoyed lunch at Kloosterman’s! Great job, Trojans - PLAINWELL PRIDE!


The Cooper Koalas had a special dress up day yesterday. As a school, they voted and the students selected - mustache day! The Koalas had so much fun! 🐨🥸

Congratulations to Plainwell High Schools’ Wolverine Conference Scholar Athletes for the class of 2024 - Issac Veen and Olivia Perrin! During his time as a Trojan, Isaac ran Cross Country. Olivia competed on the Softball and Swim & Dive teams at PHS. Way to go, Isaac and Olivia - TROJAN PRIDE!

Mrs. Amaezechi’s 4th grade class had a fun and educational trip to Lansing yesterday. The students visited the Michigan History Center and toured the Capitol building, where they were recognized on the floor of the House. This annual fourth grade trip is always an amazing learning experience for all!


Registration is still open for our elementary athletes to join us for the upcoming Summer Youthball program for 5-8 year olds. The focus of the Youthball program is recreation and to learn the fundamentals of the game. Cost is $55 per player. There are three programs available:
- Girls & Boys T-Ball (age 5/6)
- Girls Coach Pitch (age 7/8)
- Boys Coach Pitch (age 7/8)

Congratulations to the PHS Varsity Softball team on their double-header wins against Sturgis tonight. The Lady Trojans played great on offense and defense winning the first game 11-3 and the second game 21-6! TROJAN PRIDE! 💙🥎💙


The Cooper lower elementary classes performed at their spring concert last week. The amazing show was held at the Plainwell Performing Arts Center and was filled with wonder and imagination. Way to go, Koalas! 🐨💙


The JV Baseball game that was scheduled for today (Tuesday, April 23) in Sturgis has been canceled due to rain. The Varsity Baseball game at home is still on as previously scheduled.

The Cooper Elementary Young Fives students have been learning about families and cultural diversity. Last Friday, Mr. Joshua Amaezechi shared about his African upbringing with the class and taught them a special handshake used between chiefs. Special thanks to Mr. Amaezechi for sharing your childhood experiences with the Cooper Koalas, it was an amazing learning opportunity for all!
