Registration is open for the upcoming Fall Taekwondo program to improve coordination, gain strength and increase your flexibility while learning self-defense techniques, taught by Master Huong Tran. The 12-week fall session for participants 7 and up runs from September 9-November 18. Classes will be held each Monday in the Middle School Cafeteria from 5:30-7:00 PM. Cost is $60/individual/$85 per family.

Attention Trojans! Did you know that PHS and WoodTV have teamed up for a Tailgate Football Frenzy on August 29? Join us for a Food Drive to support Plainwell's Hands to Hands Program by donating canned or boxed food from August 15-29. On Friday, August 29, WoodTV will be at PHS to showcase the food drive collection, while cheering on our teams and student groups during their Tailgate Frenzy! Donations are being accepted at the PHS and PAC Main Entrances.

Exciting news from the PMS Honors Choir! They have been chosen to showcase their talents at the Michigan Music Conference in Grand Rapids in January 2025. After submitting an audition application last spring, they were selected among three other high school choirs statewide. This achievement is truly remarkable and presents a fantastic opportunity for these students. Congratulations, Trojans - PLAINWELL PRIDE! 🎶🎼🎵

Tonight's dinner plan = ✔️! Join us tonight (Monday, August 12) as PCS employees and members of the community host a benefit Pasta Dinner for the Savage Family from 5-8 PM. The event will be held in the Cafeteria at Plainwell High School (684 Starr Road, Plainwell). The cost is $10/adults and $5/children and will include a pasta bar with a variety of desserts. A raffle will also take place during the event. All proceeds will benefit the Savage Family.

During Camp Invention: Illuminate at Gilkey Elementary last week, 55 campers took part in hands-on STEM challenges. The week was packed with exciting learning opportunities that allowed the students to “imagine, experiment and create”.

We are happy to announce that Mr. Marvin Taylor has been selected as our new principal for Plainwell High School. Mr. Taylor comes to us with a wide variety of experiences, including many years as an administrator and educator, and he is excited to join our team. Mr. Taylor brings a positive attitude, strong communication and administrative skills, is relationship focused, and is eager to learn about Plainwell High School students and families. This summer, the PCS Operations Department hired six talented PHS students to help provide support for their projects. These students have been responsible for landscaping, mowing and general labor tasks. Their dedication and hard work are already proving to be invaluable, contributing to the efficiency of completing summer projects for the Operations Department. Check out these pictures to see them in action!

REMINDER! Come out for an evening of family fun and show your support for the Savage family today (Friday, July 26) from 4-6 PM at Gilkey Elementary. Pack a picnic and a towel for a fire truck cool-down. Families can explore the nature trail, playgrounds, Bookin’ Bus, play kickball and much more! Lemonade, bake sale treats and make-and-take crafts available for purchase – all proceeds will go towards helping the Savage family!
