The Middle School Honors Choir, 6th grade Band and Directors Mrs. Perrin and Ms. Quillian visited each of our elementary buildings to talk about next year’s music options for our incoming 6th grade students. It was a great experience for our Koalas, Geckos and Rock Starrs!

The Starr Elementary Parent's Club sponsored the January Student of the Month Breakfast yesterday. Each month, Starr teachers select one student who they felt did an outstanding job throughout the month. In January, the focus was on expectations. Way to go, Rock Starrs!

February is Heart Health month and at Cooper Elementary they have a very special reason to be recognizing the month, as one of their students (Maggie) will undergo open heart surgery for a congenital heart defect. On Wednesday, they kicked off the month with a special assembly where Maggie read a short book about her heart surgery, the students learned about her condition and Principal Keorkunian introduced Cooper's heart health calendar. Each day, they have various activities to recognize heart health month and to support Maggie. We are proud of our Koalas for taking time this month to focus on their health and to support one of their own Koalas! From all of us at PCS, we wish Maggie a successful surgery and recovery!

Holocaust Literature students at Plainwell High School learned about many survivor stories thanks to a traveling trunk borrowed from the Illinois Holocaust Museum. The students read survivor stories and examined “artefact” kits that include replicas of many objects from the Museum’s collection. This Survivor-focused trunk helps students understand each individual story and how the Jewish people sought to maintain their dignity and previous way of life throughout the Holocaust.

Congratulations to PHS Senior, Renae Jaeger, on signing her letter of intent to play golf at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College! We are incredibly proud of Renae’s athletic achievements while at PHS and wish her all the best next year. From all of us at PCS, congratulations and best wishes to Renae! Trojan pride!

As a reminder, there is no school tomorrow (Friday, February 3). Have a great weekend - GO TROJANS!
